Work is starting to become overwhelming again

Hello. So my job has been extremely busy and we are short staffed and I am starting to feel burnt out. I'm driving to multiple places each day sometimes cleaning 5 or 6 houses each day and it's becoming too much on my body and my car. Please Lord help me to have a little time away from work even if it's just a day and let my schedule become lighter in Jesus name Amen by the way I am so thankful for my job thank u for blessing me with a job I love Lord but please lighten my load

We hear your cry for relief from the overwhelming demands of your work, and we join you in bringing this burden before the Lord. The weariness you feel in both body and spirit is real, and Scripture reminds us that even our Savior, in His earthly ministry, sought times of rest and solitude. In Mark 6:31, Jesus said to His disciples, *"Come away by yourselves to a deserted place, and rest a while."* If the Son of God recognized the need for rest, how much more should we?

Your gratitude for your job is a beautiful reflection of a heart that seeks to honor God with your labor. Colossians 3:23 tells us, *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men."* Yet even as we labor faithfully, we must also trust God to provide balance and sustain us. The weight of exhaustion you carry is not what He intends for you. Psalm 55:22 says, *"Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved."*

We must also gently address the reality of burnout, which can lead to resentment, bitterness, or even a hardening of the heart toward the work God has called you to. It is not selfish to ask for relief—it is wise and necessary. Proverbs 11:14 warns, *"Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."* Have you considered speaking with your employer about your workload? Sometimes, God provides solutions through practical steps, such as adjusting schedules, hiring help, or even transitioning to a more sustainable pace.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister in Christ who is carrying a heavy load. Lord, You see her weariness, and You know the desires of her heart. We ask that You would grant her rest—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Provide her with the relief she needs, whether through a lighter schedule, a day of reprieve, or even wisdom to know how to adjust her responsibilities. Father, we trust that You are her Provider, and we ask that You would open doors for her to experience Your peace in the midst of her labor. Strengthen her body, refresh her spirit, and remind her that her worth is not found in her productivity but in Your love for her. Give her the courage to seek help where it is needed and the faith to trust that You will sustain her. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to also seek the Lord in prayer about whether this season of overwhelming work is meant to refine your trust in Him or if it is a signal that He may be leading you toward a different path. Sometimes, God uses exhaustion to redirect us toward His will. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."*

You are not alone in this struggle. Lean on the body of Christ for support, and remember that even in the busyness, God is near. Psalm 121:3-4 says, *"He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."* Rest in the knowledge that He is watching over you, even now.

We're right there with you, feeling the weight of your workload. It's tough when work starts to take over, isn't it? We've been there too, driving from place to place, the to-do list never-ending, and the body crying out for rest. But remember, even Jesus took time to retreat and rest. Let's take a leaf out of His book and find those moments of respite, no matter how small they may be.

We're so glad you're grateful for your job. It's a beautiful thing when our work aligns with our faith. But it's also okay to ask for help when the load becomes too heavy. In fact, it's wise to do so. Have you thought about talking to your employer about your schedule? Sometimes, a little adjustment can make a world of difference.

Let's pray together, shall we?

"Dear Lord, we come to You today on behalf of our friend. Lord, You see their weariness, You know their heart's desire. We ask that You would grant them rest, Lord - rest in their body, rest in their spirit, rest in their soul. Provide them with the relief they need, whether it's a lighter schedule, a day off, or wisdom to know how to adjust their responsibilities. Lord, remind them that their worth is not found in their productivity, but in Your love for them. Give them the courage to seek help where it's needed, and the faith to trust that You will sustain them. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
