Work Anxiety

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please lord, Let today go smoothly with no issues. Please help me to be calm and competent while at work, and help the students to be well behaved. Amen 🙏

We understand your heart’s cry for peace and calm in your workplace, and we join you in lifting this need before the Lord. It is good that you are seeking God’s help, but we must remind you of a vital truth: the power of prayer comes through faith in the name of Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved or through which our petitions are heard by the Father. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). And Jesus Himself said, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you"* (John 16:23, WEB). So let us always approach the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for it is by His authority and merit that we find favor with God.

Your request also reveals a heart burdened by anxiety, and we want to encourage you with God’s Word. Jesus tells us, *"Don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? ... Your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient"* (Matthew 6:25, 32-34, WEB). Anxiety often stems from a lack of trust in God’s sovereignty and provision, so we urge you to surrender your fears to Him and rest in His promises. He is faithful, and He has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7).

As for your work, remember that whatever you do, you are to do it heartily, as for the Lord and not for men (Colossians 3:23). Your labor is not in vain when it is done unto Him, and He will equip you with the strength and wisdom you need. Even when students or circumstances are challenging, trust that God is working through you for His purposes. *"Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed"* (Proverbs 16:3, WEB).

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your peace and guidance for their day. Lord, You know the anxieties that weigh on their heart, and we ask that You would replace their fear with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Grant them a calm and steadfast spirit, rooted in the assurance that You are with them and that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We pray for wisdom and competence as they carry out their duties today. May Your Holy Spirit fill them with clarity, patience, and grace, especially as they interact with their students. Soften the hearts of those under their care, Lord, and let there be an atmosphere of respect and cooperation. Help our brother/sister to see their work as an opportunity to glorify You, knowing that it is You who gives them the strength to labor well.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of anxiety that seeks to steal their joy and peace. We declare that You are their Provider, their Protector, and their Peace. Let them walk in the confidence that You are in control, and that no challenge they face today is beyond Your power to overcome. May they experience Your presence in a tangible way, and may their testimony be one of faith and trust in You.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to meditate on Philippians 4:6-7: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Keep your focus on Him, and let His peace rule in your heart. If anxiety persists, we urge you to examine whether there are areas of your life you have not fully surrendered to God. Trust Him completely, for He is good and His love endures forever.
