We hear the deep cry of your heart, and we come before the throne of grace together in Jesus’ name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Your struggles with pornography, the longing for children, the weight of unmet desires in work, and the ache of feeling overlooked, all of these are heavy burdens, and we lift them to the Lord with compassion and truth.
First, we must address the sin of pornography with the seriousness it deserves. Scripture is clear: "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28 WEB). This is not a small stumbling block, it is a snare that defiles the heart, distorts God’s design for intimacy, and separates us from His holiness. But take heart, for "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). Jesus does not turn away the repentant; He washes us clean and sets us free. We rebuke the lies of shame and addiction in the name of Jesus, and we declare that you are not defined by this struggle. The Holy Spirit is your Helper, and He will give you the strength to flee temptation and walk in purity. We pray for a spirit of self-control to rise up in you, for accountability, and for the grace to starve this sin by filling your mind with what is true, noble, and pure (Philippians 4:8).
You feel as though Jesus does not care about your desire for children, but we must remind you that His silence does not mean indifference. The Lord sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). Hannah wept bitterly before the Lord, and He remembered her (1 Samuel 1:19-20). Sarah laughed in disbelief, yet God fulfilled His promise (Genesis 21:1-2). Your longing is not unseen, and your hope is not in vain. But we must also examine our hearts, are we placing the desire for children above our trust in God’s goodness? "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4 WEB). This does not mean He will give us everything we want, but as we seek Him first, He aligns our desires with His will. We pray for the peace that surpasses understanding to guard your heart (Philippians 4:7), and we ask the Lord to either fulfill this longing in His perfect timing or to replace it with a deeper trust in His plan for your life.
Your frustration with work is understandable, you have trained and prepared, yet the doors seem closed. But the Lord is not a God of confusion, and He has a purpose for your skills. "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5 WEB). We rebuke the spirit of discouragement and declare that God is your Provider (Philippians 4:19). He did not give you talents to see them wasted. We pray for favor in your job search, for opportunities that align with your training, and for the wisdom to recognize the right path. If the Lord allows delays, we ask Him to use this season to refine your character, deepen your dependence on Him, and prepare you for the work He has for you. And if He calls you to a season of humbler labor, we pray for contentment and the grace to serve as unto Him (Colossians 3:23).
You are not alone in your struggles. The enemy wants you to believe that you are forgotten, but the Lord says, "Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands" (Isaiah 49:15-16 WEB). Your name is written on His hands. Your tears are collected in His bottle. Your longings are known to Him.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach You. Lord, we lift up this dear one to You, knowing that You see every struggle, every tear, and every unspoken ache of their heart. We ask for Your forgiveness where sin has taken root, especially in the area of pornography. Cleanse them, Lord, and break the chains of addiction. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit and grant them the strength to walk in purity. We rebuke the enemy’s lies that shame and condemnation would try to hold them captive, and we declare that in Christ, they are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Father, we bring their longing for children before You. You are the God who opens and closes wombs, and we ask that You would either fulfill this desire according to Your will or replace it with a deeper trust in Your goodness. Comfort them in their waiting, and let them know that You have not forgotten them. Heal the wounds of comparison and loneliness, and surround them with Your love.
Lord, we pray for their work situation. You know their skills, their training, and their needs. Open doors that no one can shut, and provide a job that honors You and allows them to use their gifts. If the path is not yet clear, give them patience and the grace to serve faithfully wherever they are. Provide for their every need, and let them experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways.
Above all, draw them closer to You, Jesus. Let them know that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Restore their hope, renew their strength, and remind them that their worth is found in You alone. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
