Is there a history book or family story—perhaps involving ###, ###, or ###—that reveals our roots in God? Can ###, ###, or ###—those in need—turn to the praying Jesus? He who is believed to have spoken and appeared in the realm of the dead, and who conquered death and lives eternally? He who was taken up—or carried—into Heaven, and who intercedes for his mother and his family?

We hear the longing in your question about roots and history and whether those in need, including those whose names have been withheld, can turn to Jesus.

We want to affirm together that there is indeed a history book that reveals our roots in God and it is the Bible, the word of God itself. It begins with creation when El Elyon, God Most High, made all things and made us for Himself. In Genesis 14:19 He is called God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth. From the beginning His story is our family story, for in Him we live, and move, and have our being as Acts 17:28 tells us, and we are fearfully and wonderfully made as Psalm 139:14 declares. The Bible traces the genealogy of mankind from Adam, through Abraham, through Israel, and ultimately to Jesus Christ, and it also reveals that our deepest root is not merely flesh and blood but being adopted as children of God through Jesus. Ephesians 1:4-5 says even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love, having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself.

We rejoice that you have named El Elyon Jesus Christ and spoken of the praying Jesus, for Jesus is God, one with the Father. John 1:1 says In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 10:30 says I and the Father are one. And we affirm what you have said about His victory over death. The Scripture teaches that He suffered and died for our sins, was put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit. 1 Peter 3:18-19 tells us that He also went and preached to the spirits in prison. Ephesians 4:9 says he also descended into the lower parts of the earth. He did not remain in the realm of the dead, for God raised him up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it as Acts 2:24 says. Revelation 1:18 declares I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever. Amen. I have the keys of Death and of Hades. And as you said He was taken up into Heaven, for Luke 24:51 says while he blessed them, he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven, and Acts 1:9 says when he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.

We want to gently correct and expand one point for clarity and encouragement. You asked about Him interceding for His mother and His family. It is true He loves His mother and His family, and on the cross He provided for His mother, but His intercession now is far broader and is the hope for all those in need who turn to Him. Romans 8:34 says Christ Jesus, he who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Hebrews 7:25 says Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them. 1 Timothy 2:5 says For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. This means that anyone, whether Jew or Gentile, whether near or far, whether those whose names you carried in your heart or any other person in need, can turn to the praying Jesus and find mercy. Romans 10:13 says For, Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Hebrews 4:16 invites us to Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.

So we answer your question with joy, yes, those in need can turn to Him today. Our roots are in God our Creator and our redemption is through Christ our Redeemer, and our family story finds its true meaning when we are grafted into His family by faith.

We pray together now for you and for those you hold in your heart whose names are known to God.

Father, El Elyon, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for giving us Your word as the true history book that reveals who we are and where we come from and why we were made. We thank You for Jesus who descended, who conquered death, who rose and lives eternally and who was carried up into heaven where He lives to make intercession for us. We lift up to You those in need who were on this dear one's heart, every soul hidden behind those withheld names, and we ask that You draw each one to Yourself. Let them know they can call upon the name of Jesus and be saved, that they can turn to Him in prayer at any hour and find mercy. Forgive our sins, wash us in the blood of Christ, and adopt us as Your children. Teach us to walk in Your ways and to find our identity and our family story in You. We ask that You reveal Yourself more deeply to the one who asked this question, confirm Your truth in their heart, and fill them with the assurance that Jesus ever lives to intercede for them. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our risen Lord and intercessor, Amen.

We appreciate you sharing these deep questions about your family and about Jesus. Wanting to know where your roots are in God and whether your loved ones can turn to Him shows real care for them.

We understand the longing for a book or a family story that ties it all together. Often those stories live in memories, old Bibles, letters, or the recollections of older relatives more than in a single history book. Gathering what you can, even small pieces, and thanking God for how He has kept your family can be a meaningful way to see His hand over generations. Our deepest roots, though, are not in a family record but in belonging to Christ who died and rose and lives now.

And yes, anyone in need can turn to Jesus. He is alive, He has overcome death, and He does intercede for His people. That is good news for you and for the ones you named.

A simple next step might be to choose one of those loved ones, pray for them by name each day this week, and if possible share with them in a gentle conversation why Jesus matters to you.

Father, we lift this family to You. Draw each one close to Jesus, give them comfort and faith to turn to Him, and help our friend rest in Your care. In Jesus name, amen.

The longing you have expressed after roots in God finds its true answer in the one history book which God Himself has given, the Holy Scriptures. There we read that the saints above and below are one family, and that in very many respects their family relationship is ancient and certain and paramount. They are one family in the Covenant, ordered in all things and sure, made with them in the Person of their one great federal Head, the Lord Jesus Christ. Sadly one are all the members of the human race in our first father Adam, for in Adam we all fell, but blessedly one are all who are in the Second Adam, for in Christ all who believe are made alive and become heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ, holding the same title deeds by grace through faith.

You ask whether those in need, those whose names you have laid before the Lord, may turn to the praying Jesus. They may, and they must, for there is no other hope. In ourselves there dwells no good thing, and there is no hope for us in ourselves, but there is hope for us in Him whom God has provided to be the Saviour of such as we are. Jesus Christ was bone of our bone and flesh of our flesh, He was slain and has redeemed us to God by His blood, He conquered death and lives eternally, and having been taken up into Heaven He ever lives to make intercession. And as if that were not enough, the Spirit Himself helps our infirmities in prayer, teaching us what we should pray for as we ought and making intercession for us according to the will of God.

He does not intercede for His earthly mother or His kinsmen after the flesh upon the ground of mere natural descent, for flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom. His intercession is prevalent for all who come unto God by Him, for all who are born of God and are believers in Jesus. If we belong to that family, we show our relationship by loving all the members of it, and by pleading for our kinsfolk that God would bless them with the one blessing that endures, which is salvation in Christ.

Therefore the call of God to your soul and to those for whom you pray is, Come into the ark, or in other words, come now to Jesus and distinctly and finally commit yourself to Him. Just as Noah put himself in the ark, to sink in the ark or swim in the ark, to live in the ark or die in the ark, so you are to take Christ to have Him and hold Him from this day forward. Dwellers in Christ are under the protection of God, shut in with God, dead to the world and alive in Christ Jesus.

I will pray that the Lord will open the eyes of all those you have named to see that their only right to Heaven lies in the grace of God which brings a sinner to believe in Jesus, that they may escape from every refuge of lies and fly to Jesus and hide in Him, and that you and they may know the power of His resurrection and the comfort of His continual intercession at the throne of grace, and may be found at last one family in Heaven and earth, to the praise of His manifold wisdom and eternal purpose in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your question touches a deep and good desire to know where you come from and where you can find help in need. Our true roots are not first in a family story or a history book written by men, but in God Himself who made us. The sure history He has given us is His Word, which tells us we are created by Him, fallen through sin, and offered new life only through His Son.

You ask about Jesus who is believed to have spoken and appeared even in the realm of the dead, who conquered death and lives eternally, who was taken up into Heaven and intercedes for His own. This is true and is the heart of our hope. Scripture teaches that Jesus died and rose again, that death could not hold Him, and that He ascended and now lives forever. Because He ever lives, He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God by Him, seeing He ever lives to make intercession for them. As our High Priest He does not intercede once only, but continually for those who draw near to God through Him.

This means that anyone in need, whatever name you hold in your heart behind those places you left blank, can turn to Him, but they must come to God by Him in faith and repentance, trusting in Christ alone for salvation. It is not bloodline or family story that secures His intercession, but coming to the Father through the Son. He saves those who come, and He will keep them.

So I pray for you and for those you mentioned who are in need, that God would make His Word clear to you, that you would see your roots in Him as Creator and Redeemer, and that each one would turn to the living Jesus in true faith, receive forgiveness of sins through Him alone, and walk in His ways. I pray that you would know the power of His resurrection and the comfort of His present intercession, and that He would draw you and your family to Himself and keep you to eternal life. Amen.
