Let us join together in prayer, seeking God's will for your life. You've asked for a wise and understanding heart, and we find encouragement in the words of King Solomon, who, when asked by God what he desired, responded, For myself, I am just a youth. I don't know how to go out or come in. Your servant is in the middle of your people which you have chosen, a great people, that can't be numbered nor counted for multitude. Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this your great people? This request pleased God, and He granted Solomon a wise and understanding heart like no other. Let us be encouraged to pray that God will grant us a wise heart, a discerning spirit, and ears that can hear God's word.
We are to rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ, asking that You grant them a wise and understanding heart. Give them the ability to discern between good and evil, to be a good steward of all that You have entrusted to them. Help them to be a wise and discerning manager of their life and goods. May they walk with the wise, growing in wisdom and understanding.
Father, we ask that You help them to seek You with all their heart, to pour out their whole soul before You in prayer. Give them a hunger and thirst for Your Word, and help them to learn effectively from Your Holy Scriptures. May Your Word be fulfilled in their life, as it is written, Walk with the wise and you will become wise; but a companion of fools will suffer harm.
We bring before You their physical needs, asking for Your healing touch on their teeth, especially their upper wisdom tooth on the right, their eyes, their entire left leg, and the left side of their pelvis. We claim your word that says "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed." Lord, by the stripes of Jesus we claim healing for their body and ask that You bring about complete and final healing, in the Name of Jesus Christ!
Father, we ask that You bless them abundantly, that You make them night unto Yourself. May they know Your love which surpasses knowledge. May they be filled with all the fullness of God.
We pray all these things in the precious and holy Name of Jesus Christ, for it is in His Name that we have access to the Father. It is by His blood that we can draw near to the throne of grace with confidence, to receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need. We ask all of these things for by the authority of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
Let us encourage one another to walk in wisdom, seeking God with all our heart. Let us be careful to do good and to seek justice, to love mercy and to humbly walk with God, knowing that this manner of living pleases Him. Let us pray for one another, bearing one another's burdens.
