Dear brother and sisters in Christ, I have recently taken on a new vacancy after leaving a huge organisation to another huge organisation, but their systems are so undated that im struggling to follow and understand them. I feel I'm making mistakes after mistakes. This is the job the lord has blessed me with so cannot understand why am I struggling? Please may I kindly ask for you to stand with me for prayer asking the lord for knowledge, wisdom and understanding in this role. I an on probation and want to pass it. Thank you ever so much.

We hear your struggle and stand with you in this season of transition, asking the Lord to grant you wisdom and clarity as you navigate these challenges. The Word tells us in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." You are right to seek the Lord’s guidance in this, for He is the source of all true understanding and discernment.

This new role may feel overwhelming now, but remember that the Lord has placed you here for a purpose. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Even when systems are outdated or confusing, the Lord can give you the insight to work through them with excellence. Your desire to pass probation reflects a heart that wants to honor Him in your work, and we believe He will honor that commitment.

We also encourage you to seek practical steps, asking colleagues for guidance, breaking down tasks into smaller parts, and trusting that the Lord will help you learn as you go. Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might." Even in frustration, your diligence is an act of worship.

Let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, asking for Your divine wisdom to rest upon him. Lord, You see the struggles he faces in this new role, and we ask that You would grant him clarity, understanding, and patience as he learns. Fill him with Your peace, knowing that You have placed him in this position for a reason. Help him to trust in You rather than his own strength, and give him favor with his supervisors and colleagues. May he walk in confidence, knowing that You are with him every step of the way. We declare that he will pass this probation and thrive in this role, all for Your glory. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen."

Keep pressing forward, knowing that the Lord is your strength. You are not alone in this, and we believe He will equip you for every challenge ahead.

We hear how heavy this feels for you. You stepped out in faith to take this new role and you want to honor the Lord in it, so it is discouraging when the systems feel outdated and confusing and you find yourself making mistakes. Moving from one large organization to another is already a big adjustment, and when the tools themselves are hard to follow it makes sense you would feel unsteady and wonder why it is not clicking yet.

Needing time to learn does not mean you have failed or that God has not placed you here. A probation season is meant for learning, and asking for wisdom in it shows a humble and faithful heart. We admire that you are turning to the Lord for understanding rather than trying to carry this alone.

One small practice that often helps in a situation like yours is to keep a simple daily note. At the end of the day jot down the two or three processes that tripped you up, what you did try, and one clear question to bring to a trusted colleague or supervisor the next day. It can also bring peace to ask your manager early what a good probation looks like in practical terms, so you know where to focus and can get feedback before worry builds.

Father, we thank You for the work You have provided and for this heart that wants to serve You well in it. Grant wisdom, understanding and a clear mind for each task and system, calm the fear that comes with mistakes, and provide patient help from others who know the way. Your request has been brought before us and we will stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace.

It is a right and good thing to ask the Lord for wisdom, knowledge and understanding in your daily labour, for heavenly knowledge is not like the cold light of the moon which is barren, but is fructifying and healthful, chasing away darkness like the warm rays of the sun. Knowledge strengthens the spiritual man because it is that on which faith has to feed, and where there is faith, knowledge is a great gain. The Scripture says, If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally. A grain of divine grace is worth more than a ton of worldly wisdom, and if you have but a spark of true faith in Jesus Christ, the Lord will not despise your humble asking.

Do not think that because this vacancy is the Lord's provision you should therefore find it without difficulty. There is not a grain of grace that will escape probation, for the Lord is sure in some way or other to test and exercise it. As Job was tried, so are all whom the Lord loves. In all his losses Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly, and he was kept by divine support. Your present struggling with systems that seem undated and hard to follow, and your grief over mistakes, is a part of that proving by which the Lord teaches us our dependence and reveals to us the necessity of looking beyond ourselves. Even Job, when the Lord revealed Himself, confessed that he had uttered things too wonderful for him which he knew not, and learned to bow before a wisdom altogether beyond the understanding of man.

We will pray that the Lord who turned the captivity of Job will turn your anxiety into peace, that He will give you a clear mind to learn these new systems, a patient spirit under correction, diligence in your probation, and humility to ask for help where it is needed. May He grant you favour with those set over you, and establish the work of your hands.

We pray together that the God of all wisdom would anoint you with fresh oil, keep you in patience as He kept Job, and cause you to know that your Redeemer lives and watches over you amid uncertain affairs. May He grant you knowledge to do your work faithfully, wisdom to walk uprightly, and understanding to glorify Christ in this place where He has set you, and may you be kept trusting not in your own perfection but in the Lord who is able to uphold you.

Your prayer for wisdom in this new role has been heard, and we stand with you before the Lord in this time of testing on probation.

It is good that you recognize this job as a blessing from God and that you seek Him for help rather than trusting only in your own understanding. The Scripture teaches that every good gift comes from above, and that true wisdom is not of this world and does not come from our own skill or experience alone. As one has said, wisdom does not come from the workshop or from bargaining and daily labor, but from the working of God and the grace of the Holy Spirit. Even the Apostle Paul, who worked with his hands, did not speak from his own mind but from the Spirit who strengthens whomever He wills.

We pray for you that God will give you what you have asked, knowledge, wisdom and understanding. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and He Himself has been made unto us wisdom. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ alone, through whom alone we have salvation and access to God, to open your mind to understand these new systems, to give you clarity where there is confusion, to steady your hands where you feel you are making mistakes, and to grant you diligence, humility and peace as you learn.

Remember also that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and that virtue is the root of prudence. A humble, teachable and faithful heart, willing to ask for help, to take notes, to learn patiently and to do each task honestly before God, is the path by which God often grants understanding. Do not be troubled that you are struggling now. God does not waste this season. He uses it to teach dependence on Him and to plant virtue and endurance in you. Do not be over curious about why the struggle has come, but trust the Maker of time who knows the right season for growth.

So we pray that the Lord will grant you favor with those who oversee your probation, that He will help you to learn quickly and work accurately, that He will calm anxiety and replace it with confidence in His help, and that He will establish you in this work for His glory. Ask Him daily, for He gives wisdom generously to those who ask in faith.

May the Lord grant you full assurance of understanding, keep you in His grace, and cause you to pass this probation and to serve faithfully in the place where He has set you.

Thank you for sharing so honestly about what you are facing in this new role. It is understandable to feel discouraged when you have stepped out in faith into a job you believe God provided, and yet the daily systems feel confusing and the mistakes feel constant. Wanting to do well during probation is a good and responsible desire, and it is right to bring it to the Lord and to ask others to pray with you.

Struggling does not mean God has withdrawn His blessing or that you have done something wrong. Scripture shows us a man named Job who was described as upright and faithful, and yet he went through a season of deep confusion and loss that he did not understand. What was happening in heaven was hidden from him, and his friends wrongly assumed his suffering must be punishment for sin. The truth was different. God was still present and still working even when it felt as though He had turned away, and He used that painful season to show His own faithfulness and to bring comfort to others who would later walk through hard trials. Your difficulty with outdated systems is not a sign that God has abandoned you, and it is not necessarily a measure of your worth or faithfulness. Often God allows a steep learning curve to teach us dependence on Him.

You asked specifically for knowledge, wisdom and understanding, and Scripture speaks directly to that. Wisdom is not something we can mine out of the ground like gold or buy like jewels and precious stones. It is more valuable than rubies or gold, and no amount of human effort or experience can produce it on its own. Long life and great position do not automatically make a person wise, and even great people are not always wise. True wisdom belongs to God. With Him is wisdom and strength, counsel and understanding. He can break through what is blocked and open what is shut, and He holds all things in His hands.

Scripture says there is a spirit in man, and it is the inspiration of the Almighty that gives understanding. The Lord Himself has declared what wisdom is. To revere Him, to honor Him and walk in the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding. That reverence keeps our hearts teachable and honest before Him. And when we lack wisdom, we are invited to ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and He will give it. Through Jesus Christ, God has met our deepest needs, and for every cry of the heart there is an answer in Him. He is the one who stands between God and us and brings us near.

So we will stand with you in prayer. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus to give you clear knowledge of these new systems, wisdom to know how to apply what you learn, and understanding to remember and use it accurately. We pray He will quiet the anxiety that comes with repeated mistakes, help you to learn step by step, give you favor with those who are overseeing your probation, and give you peace as you trust Him each day. We pray He will help you to continue to fear Him, to walk uprightly, and to depend on His strength rather than only on your own effort, knowing that He is the source of all counsel and understanding.

May the Lord grant you steadiness, clarity, and grace in this season, and may you see His hand helping you grow in this role He has entrusted to you.
