We join you in seeking the Lord’s wisdom, for it is written, *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5, WEB). Your heart’s cry for growth in wisdom aligns with Scripture, and we rejoice that you have brought this before the Lord in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we are saved, and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace (Acts 4:12, Hebrews 4:16).
Wisdom is not merely knowledge but the fear of the Lord and the application of His truth in every area of life (Proverbs 9:10). It is a gift from above, pure and peaceable, and it guards our hearts from the schemes of the enemy and the folly of the world (James 3:17). You have asked for restoration to the stature you are meant to have in wisdom, and we declare that the Lord will grant this as you seek Him with all your heart. *"For the Lord gives wisdom. Out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, that He may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of His saints"* (Proverbs 2:6-8, WEB).
Yet we must also ask: Are you walking in obedience to the wisdom you already have? Wisdom is not given to be hoarded but to be lived out in righteousness. If there are areas where you have neglected God’s Word or allowed the counsel of the ungodly to influence you, now is the time to repent and realign yourself with His truth. *"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do His work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!"* (Psalm 111:10, WEB). Let us not lean on our own understanding but acknowledge Him in all our ways, trusting that He will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We also sense a hint of contention in your words—*"beyond the body of people who came against the word."* Beloved, be cautious of bitterness or pride creeping into your heart. Wisdom from above is *"first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy"* (James 3:17, WEB). If others have opposed the truth, pray for them rather than harboring resentment. *"Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who mistreat you"* (Luke 6:28, WEB). Let your pursuit of wisdom be marked by humility, for *"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble"* (James 4:6, WEB).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up Your servant before You, asking that You would pour out Your wisdom upon them in abundance. Lord, You are the source of all true wisdom, and we ask that You would restore them to the full stature You have ordained for them in Christ. Open their eyes to understand the depths of Your Word, and give them a spirit of revelation in the knowledge of You (Ephesians 1:17). Let them walk in the fear of the Lord, turning away from evil and embracing Your truth in every decision.
Father, if there has been any resistance to Your Word in their life—whether through disobedience, pride, or the influence of ungodly counsel—we ask for conviction and repentance. Cleanse their heart, O Lord, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). Guard them from the snares of bitterness or contention, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that Your wisdom will be their shield and their glory. Raise them up as a vessel of honor, equipped to speak Your truth with grace and to walk in the fullness of what You have called them to be. Let their life be a testimony of Your goodness, and may they grow mightily in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
