We join our hearts with yours in seeking the wisdom and knowledge of God’s will, for this is a prayer that aligns perfectly with His Word. The Scriptures you’ve shared, Colossians 1:9-12, Philippians 1:9-10, and others, remind us that true wisdom begins with a deep, abiding relationship with the Lord. We pray alongside you, asking the Father to fill us with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that we may walk in a manner worthy of Him, fully pleasing Him in every respect.
Father, we ask that our love would abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that we may discern what is best. Let us not be swayed by the fleeting desires of this world, but instead, let our hearts be fixed on what is pure, lovely, and of good report (Philippians 4:8). Grant us the practical wisdom that James speaks of, wisdom that is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, and without hypocrisy (James 3:17). May we be led by Your Holy Spirit, who guides us into all truth (John 16:13), and may we hear the voice of Jesus, our Good Shepherd, who calls us by name and leads us in paths of righteousness (John 10:3-4).
We recognize that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and so we stand firm in Your promises, asking that You would deliver us from evil and keep us from temptation. Strengthen us with all power according to Your glorious might, so that we may have great endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to You, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light (Colossians 1:11-12). Let Your favor be a shield around us, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we also lift up those who may be struggling with decisions that do not align with Your Word. If there are areas in our lives where we have strayed from Your will, whether in relationships, choices, or priorities, we ask for Your conviction and correction. Help us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18), to honor marriage as You designed it (Hebrews 13:4), and to pursue holiness in all things (1 Peter 1:15-16). Let us not be deceived by the lies of the world, but instead, let us hold fast to the truth of Your Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105).
We thank You for the angels You have sent to minister to us (Hebrews 1:14), and we trust in Your protection as we navigate this world. Keep us from evil people and the schemes of the evil one, and let us not grow weary in doing good (2 Thessalonians 3:13). May we always remember that it is in the name of Jesus that we pray, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Without Him, we have no access to You, Father, and so we come boldly to Your throne of grace, knowing that in Christ, all Your promises are "Yes" and "Amen" (2 Corinthians 1:20).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who taught us to pray, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil" (Matthew 6:13). May Your will be done in our lives, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
