We join with you in this earnest plea for divine wisdom and discernment, standing on the truth that every good and perfect gift comes from above, descending from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation nor shifting shadow. Your prayer echoes the cry of our hearts as we seek to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
Father, we ask that You fill us with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. May our love abound more and more in knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent, being sincere and without offense until the day of Christ. Let us not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. As we seek Your face, guide our steps in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake, that we may not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers, but delight in Your law and meditate on it day and night.
We recognize that without You, we can do nothing, and so we lean not on our own understanding but acknowledge You in all our ways, trusting that You will direct our paths. Grant us practical wisdom, for if any of us lacks wisdom, let us ask of You, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to us. Let us be led by the Spirit of God, for as many as are led by the Spirit, these are the children of God. May we hear the voice of Jesus, our Good Shepherd, and follow Him, for His sheep hear His voice, and He calls them by name and leads them out.
Father, we thank You for the angels You have sent forth to minister for our sake, encamping around us and delivering us from harm. Protect us from temptation, sin, lies, and fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Deliver us from evil and the evil one, for we know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Strengthen us with all power according to Your glorious might, so that we may have great endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to You, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
We pray that You would keep us from evil people and the snares of the evil one, for the Lord is faithful, and He will establish us and guard us from the evil one. Grant us favor as a shield, surrounding us with Your lovingkindness and truth, that we may walk in the light as You are in the light, having fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ Your Son cleansing us from all sin.
Father, we thank You in advance for the answers to these prayers, for we know that whatever we ask in Jesus’ name, He will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, in whom all the promises of God are yes and amen. We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. May our lives be a living testimony to Your grace and truth, that others may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. Amen.
