We come before You, Father, with hearts full of gratitude for Your Word and the wisdom it imparts. Your Scriptures are a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, guiding us in the way we should go. We lift up this prayer for wisdom, discernment, and knowledge of Your will, echoing the apostle Paul’s petitions in Colossians and Philippians. Indeed, we desire that our love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that we may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:9-10).
Father, we ask that You fill us with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. May we walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing You, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Strengthen us with all power according to Your glorious might so that we may have great endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to You, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light (Colossians 1:9-12). We recognize that without You, we can do nothing, but with You, all things are possible.
We stand on the promise that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask You, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to us (James 1:5). Your Word declares that You store up sound wisdom for the upright and that You are a shield to those who walk in integrity (Proverbs 2:6-7). Lead us, Holy Spirit, for those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God (Romans 8:14). Guide us in the paths of righteousness and justice, that we may hear the voice of Jesus, our Good Shepherd, who calls us by name and leads us out (John 10:4-5, 27).
We are grateful for the ministry of Your holy angels, who are sent forth to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14). Thank You for commanding Your angels concerning us, to guard us in all our ways (Psalm 91:10-11). Father, we ask that You keep us from temptation and deliver us from evil, as we pray in the manner Jesus taught us (Matthew 6:13). Guard our hearts and minds from sin, for the Lord takes no pleasure in wickedness, and evil will not dwell with You (1 Corinthians 16:9, Zephaniah 3:13). Protect us from evil people and the schemes of the evil one, for You are faithful, and You will strengthen and protect us from the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:2-3, John 17:15).
We claim Your promise that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive (Mark 11:24). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). For no matter how many promises You have made, they are "Yes" in Christ, and through Him, we say "Amen" to the glory of God (2 Corinthians 1:20).
Father, we acknowledge that apart from Jesus, we can do nothing. It is only through Him that we have access to You, for there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that all who seek Your face would come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, repenting of their sins and turning to You for forgiveness and new life.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
