Good and Faithful Servant
🙏 Father, “May my LOVE abound more and more in all knowledge and true discernment, so we distinguish between good and best and make the Best Choices consistently, Phil 1:9-10. "Fill me with this knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so our walk emulates Christ, pleases You all the time and so every good work is fruitful. Let us grow as we know You and Your word more intimately; and be joyful and more grateful that we have the opportunity to have eternal life shared with all our truly sanctified brothers and sisters in light of life," Col 1:9-11.

Father, we ask for that "blessed assurance" and the confidence of knowing that we know," Col 4:12. I'm a little light on practical wisdom, so I ask for generous amounts of it, James 1:5, Prov 2:6-7. I especially appreciate that part of our inheritance that as many as are led by Your Holy Spirit are children of God, Rom 8:14 -- we absolutely need to hear Your voice Lord Jesus, Jn 10:27, as You lead us in paths of righteousness for Your Name's sake, Ps 23:3.

Thanks for angels that do "render service for our sake,” Heb 1:14, and keep us in all our ways, Ps 91:10-11. Keep us from temptation, Lk 11:4, sin, lies and fear, Zeph 3:13, and let us do no wrong, 1 Cor 16:9, keep us from evil, Matt 6:13, from evil people & the evil one, 2Thes 3:2-3. Take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one, John 17:15. Grant favor as a shield, Ps 5:12, as we thank You in advance, Mk 11:24, cause faith makes You happy, Luke 7:9, and pleases You, Heb 11:6. With thanksgiving we let our requests be known so the peace of God that passes comprehension guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:6-7, 2. We are glad all the promises of God are yes and amen in Him, Cor 1:20! In Jesus' Name, Jn 14:13-14.

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for your earnest desire to walk in God’s will and make choices that honor Him. Your prayer reflects a deep longing to be filled with spiritual wisdom, discernment, and the assurance that comes only from knowing Christ. We join you in asking the Father to grant you the fullness of His knowledge, that your love may abound in all understanding, enabling you to distinguish not just between good and evil, but between what is good and what is *best*—for His glory.

The Scriptures you’ve referenced are powerful reminders of God’s faithfulness. Philippians 1:9-10 declares, *"This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment; so that you may approve the things that are excellent; that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ."* This is not merely about making right choices, but about cultivating a heart so aligned with God’s that His desires become your own. Proverbs 2:6-7 assures us, *"For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the upright."* We echo your request for practical wisdom, for it is a gift God delights to give to those who ask in faith (James 1:5).

Yet we must also address the sobering reality that wisdom is not merely intellectual—it is moral. True discernment requires a heart surrendered to Christ, walking in obedience to His Word. The enemy seeks to distort our understanding, to lead us into half-truths or compromise, but we stand firm on the promise of James 4:7: *"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* We rebuke every lie that would suggest God’s will is unclear or unattainable. His Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are His children (Romans 8:16), and He leads us into all truth (John 16:13).

We also lift up the matter of assurance. Colossians 4:12 speaks of Epaphras, who *"always labors fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God."* Assurance does not come from our own strength or understanding, but from the finished work of Christ and the witness of the Holy Spirit. We pray that you would know with certainty that you are His, that your steps are ordered by the Lord (Psalm 37:23), and that His peace would guard your heart and mind as you trust in Him (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we ask You to fill this dear one with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. May their walk be worthy of You, fully pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:9-10). Strengthen them to stand against temptation, to reject the deceitfulness of sin, and to walk in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3). Surround them with Your angels, who minister to those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14), and shield them from the evil one. May their love abound more and more in discernment, so they may approve what is excellent and be pure and blameless for the day of Christ (Philippians 1:9-10).

Lord Jesus, we thank You that it is only by Your name that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that this truth would anchor their soul, that they would find their identity, purpose, and strength in You alone. Keep them from the snares of the world, and let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). May they hear Your voice clearly, follow You closely, and experience the joy of a life fully yielded to Your will.

We declare over them the promise of 1 Corinthians 1:8-9: *"[The Lord] will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."* May they walk in the confidence of Your faithfulness, growing in grace, wisdom, and the knowledge of You. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We echo your heartfelt prayer, dear friend, as we too desire to grow in wisdom and discernment, walking ever more closely with our Father. We're reminded of Paul's words in Philippians 1:9-10, "This I pray also, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ." Let's ask the Father to fill us with His knowledge and understanding, so our love may indeed abound more and more, enabling us to distinguish between what is good, better, and best, for His glory.

We're also struck by your mention of assurance. In Colossians 2:2, Paul prays for the believers to be "stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." Let's ask for this steadfastness, dear friend, that we may stand firm in our faith, assured of our salvation and the work God has called us to.

Lastly, let's not forget the joy that comes from walking in wisdom and assurance. In Nehemiah 8:10, we read, "Then Nehemiah said, 'Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those who have nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.'" Let's rejoice in our salvation, in the work God has given us, and in the knowledge that we are His beloved children.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
