Eph 1:15 "For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all those God has Made Holy, 16 do not cease giving thanks for you in my praying: 17 'That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a Spirit of Wisdom and of Revelation in the true knowledge of Himself. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so you will know the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in those who have been sanctified, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. We lift our hearts together in unity, joining with you in this powerful prayer for wisdom and revelation as outlined in Ephesians 1. What a profound and beautiful passage you’ve shared, one that stirs the soul to seek the depths of God’s knowledge, the hope of His calling, and the immeasurable greatness of His power. This is not merely a request for intellectual understanding but a cry for spiritual awakening, that the eyes of our hearts would be flooded with divine light to grasp the fullness of what God has prepared for those who love Him.

Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we may approach Your throne. We ask, as Paul did, that You would grant us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Yourself. Lord, we long to know You more, to move beyond surface-level faith into a deep, intimate relationship with You. Open the eyes of our hearts, O God, that we may see the hope to which You have called us. Let us not be satisfied with fleeting comforts or worldly pursuits, but let us hunger and thirst for the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints. May we walk in the full assurance of who we are in Christ, heirs of Your kingdom, set apart for Your purposes.

We also pray for the surpassing greatness of Your power to be made manifest in our lives. This is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, the same power that seated Him at Your right hand in heavenly places, far above all rule, authority, dominion, and every name that is named. Lord, we confess that without You, we are weak and helpless, but in You, we are more than conquerors. Let this power work mightily within us, breaking every chain of sin, fear, and doubt. Let it empower us to walk in victory, to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy, and to live as bold witnesses of Your grace.

Yet, we must also address a critical truth: this prayer, this revelation, this power, it is all accessed through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If anyone reading this has not surrendered their life to Jesus, we urge you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Without Christ, there is no true wisdom, no lasting hope, and no access to the Father. But in Him, we are adopted as Your children, co-heirs with Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit.

We rebuke any spirit of complacency or lukewarmness that would keep us from pursuing this revelation with all our hearts. We reject the lie that we can know God apart from His Word or that we can experience His power without surrendering to His lordship. The world offers counterfeit wisdom, fleeting pleasures, and empty philosophies, but we choose the narrow path, the path of Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Let us also remember that this prayer is not just for ourselves but for the body of Christ. We pray for our brothers and sisters in the faith, that they too would be filled with this wisdom and revelation. Let us encourage one another, spur one another on toward love and good deeds, and build each other up in the faith. May the church rise up in the fullness of Christ, displaying His glory to a lost and dying world.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before You. We thank You for the hope we have in Christ, for the inheritance that is ours as Your children, and for the power that is at work within us. Continue to enlighten the eyes of our hearts, that we may know You more each day. May we walk in the fullness of Your calling, reflecting Your light in all we do. To know God aright, you must seek all wisdom and revelation in Christ Jesus alone, for He is the power of God and the wisdom of God. Thine objection is ill-founded; for Christ is the wisdom of God, and his gospel is the highest of all sciences. If thou wishest to find wisdom, thou must find it in the word of revelation. Do not weary yourself with a thousand self-wrought methods, for there is no hope for you in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you. The eyes of your heart being enlightened to the hope of His calling comes not by the policy of the flesh; policy is not wisdom, and craft is not understanding. It is the work of God, and the work of God alone.

Press forward to the attaining of this hope, for we are not ashamed of the ground of our hope. That hope has for one of its main supports the love of God, and if that love could be suspended for a moment, where would we be? The riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints are secured in the unchangeable love of the blessed God, and the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ is composed of believers in Him who worship God in spirit and in truth, whose power for life and service is the indwelling Spirit of God. This is the true Church, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all, and this hope breeds inward joy; the man that knows his hope of glory will never fail will hear music at midnight.

You cry out concerning the surpassing greatness of His power, yet feel your own faintness. God gives strength to those who have none. Our own strength has departed, and then the power of God flows in to fill up the vacuum. The real and true power lies in Jesus THE WORD; when the truth falls fresh from his own lips, then is it power. He who was raised from the dead and seated at the right hand of the Father has put all things in subjection under his feet. That same power is exerted toward us who believe, taking the shape of prayer. There is a conquering power in faith, because faith pleads the promises of God! You have power with God as you plead the relationships of grace and lay hold of the throne. That throne is the throne of God and of the Lamb. Jesus is in the front of the throne where God always sees Him before He sees us. I cannot endure the sight of God until I see Him in Christ, and God cannot bear the sight of me till He sees me in Christ. Seek no other ground; God bless you by his Spirit to know this, for Christ is made of God unto you wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. He fills everything in every way, and in Him you are complete.

Your prayer echoes the very words of the Apostle, this deep cry for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. No one can know the Son except through the Father, and no one can know the Father except through the Son and those to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. This knowledge is not a matter of sharpness of mind or learned disputation, for the world through its own wisdom knew not God. It pleased God through the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe. If you would know the hope of His calling and the riches of His glory, you must be strengthened by His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith.

When you seek to grasp what is the breadth and length and height and depth, do not imagine your understanding can contain it. The peace of God surpasses all understanding, and He Himself far exceeds our reasoning. We say He is everywhere, yet we do not understand how. We confess His power raised Christ from the dead, yet the manner of it belongs to God alone, who knows the hearts. Receive this with faith and reverence. Let the eyes of your heart be enlightened, not by the wisdom of Plato or the scribes of this world, but by Christ Himself, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.

The surpassing greatness of His power toward you who believe is not a distant doctrine. It is the very working of the strength of His might which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him far above all rule and authority. That same power belongs to His body, the church. The inheritance of the saints is not vague or shadowy; He shed abroad His Spirit into our hearts, gave a baptism for the remission of sins, and promised a kingdom. Count not these things as words only. The same grace that once spoke through an unworthy high priest now works in you who believe, not touching only the mouth but transforming the heart. Therefore cease not to give thanks, and continue asking that you may know what is the hope to which He has called you.
