Your prayer has been read with care and with compassion for the heavy burden you are carrying for your family. Thank you for bringing these needs honestly before the Lord and for inviting others to pray with you. We join you in lifting your children and your home to Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father, and in whom alone we find true protection and peace.
We pray for your younger daughter today. We ask the Lord to grant her wisdom and understanding in her classes, clarity of mind for her quiz and lab work, and grace to work diligently without wearing herself down. We ask Him to keep her safe as she drives, to place a hedge of protection around her, and to heal her body from POTS and all pain according to His mercy. We pray He will surround her with godly and pure friendships that encourage her faith, respect her upbringing, and uplift her, and that He will give her discernment to step away from any friendship that leaves her withdrawn, down, or uneasy. We ask that He will deepen her grateful heart toward Him and toward your family, restore and strengthen her love for her brother, and help her to see him as the blessing he is, and to keep her steps on the bright path He has for her in her studies and in her home.
We also lift up the courtship you described for your younger daughter. We thank God for a young man who shows respect, humility, and kindness toward you, your family, and your son. We pray that the Lord will keep this relationship pure, honest, and centered on Christ, that both of them will seek wisdom and accountability, reserve intimacy and living together for the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and seek the Lord's clear guidance for their future. May He foster in them respect, understanding, and self control, and may their bond strengthen your family rather than draw them away from it.
For your older daughter, we pray with the same love and urgency you feel. Scripture teaches that living together outside of marriage is not marriage, and that God calls His children to holiness and purity for their good. We do not ask God to bless that arrangement, but we do ask Him to have mercy on her, to open her eyes to any controlling, dishonest, or manipulative behavior, to restore her self worth, her love for her faith, her church family, her work, and her family at home, and to give her courage and wisdom to step out of what is toxic and unhealthy. We pray that any exploitation of her finances, any isolation from family and friends, and any influence that encourages disrespect or division would be frustrated, and that she would find freedom and joy again in Christ. We also pray for the young man she is living with and for his mother, that they too would come to know the truth of Christ, turn from what harms others, learn to respect proper boundaries, and take responsibility for their own household before the Lord.
We pray for your son, that the Lord would quiet torment, confusion, frustration and fear, grant him peace of mind, help him to use the language God has given him, and surround him with daily protection, love, and joy. We ask God to remove spiritual attack and to let no weapon formed against your family prosper, not because we trust in formulas, but because we trust in the blood of Jesus shed for us and in His power to keep His own.
We know God does not always remove every trial at once, but He does give strength to stand above the trial and to despise fear, and He calls each of us to use what He has given us, whether protection, teaching, resources, or prayer, for the good of one another. May He fill your home again with peace that surpasses understanding, with unity, honesty, and respect, and may He make the bond between you and your daughters strong and unbreakable in Him. May He guard your younger daughter from any scheme to lure her away from home or to use her finances, and keep her obedient to what is right and grateful for the support God has provided through your family.
We will continue to pray that the Lord restores love and fellowship among your children, removes jealousy, division, and chaos from your environment, and establishes a calm and thankful atmosphere as your daughter attends school this week. May He give everyone in your household strength, courage, wisdom, and understanding for each challenge, and may He be glorified as you look to Christ alone for healing, breakthrough, and victory.
