Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your family has been heard and I join you in bringing it before the Lord who alone is our wisdom and our protection.
I pray with you for your younger daughter, that God would cover her with the blood of Jesus Christ and keep her in health and safety. I ask that He would give her clear wisdom, not the wisdom of this world which fades and leads astray, but the wisdom from above which God foreordained for our good. That true wisdom comes not from persuasive voices around her but from the grace of the Holy Spirit working in her heart. May He help her to see clearly the costs of moving at this time for her health, her responsibilities including care for her dog, her schedule and her finances, and to make a decision that brings peace rather than hardship and stress. May He guard her from influences that would draw her down a dark path and keep her steadfast and content as she has been.
I pray also for your family as a whole, that the Lord would strengthen unity, love, gratefulness and respect among you. Where there has been havoc and division, may He restore thankfulness and honor for one another.
For your older daughter, I join you in praying that the Lord in His mercy would open her eyes to see the seriousness of living together outside of marriage. God designed marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and calls us to keep sexual union and shared life within that covenant. I do not ask God to bless what is outside His design, but I ask that He would draw her to Himself through Jesus Christ alone, bring conviction and repentance, and lead her out of a destructive and toxic arrangement into a life that honors Him. I pray that both of your daughters would turn away from gossip, mocking and other habits that do not reflect Christ, and that any ungodly influence from this young man and his mother would be blocked and removed from their lives. May the Lord set a guard over their hearts and minds.
I also lift up your son, asking that God would protect him from jealousy, hatred and spite, and keep him from being drawn into these conflicts.
You have rightly said that nothing is impossible with God and that by His stripes we are healed. I pray that you and your children would know that healing and deliverance fully in Christ, trusting not in any power of witchcraft or word curses, for Christ has already overcome all such darkness, and that you would walk in freedom, wisdom and gratitude before Him.
In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and Savior, Amen.
