We join you in seeking the wisdom that comes from above, which is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, and without hypocrisy (James 3:17). Father, we earnestly desire to walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing You in every way, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10). Your Word tells us that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask of You, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to us (James 1:5). So we ask, Lord, that You would generously pour out Your wisdom upon us, that we may discern Your will and choose the best way in every situation.
We thank You for the assurance we have in Christ, that we are Your children, led by Your Spirit (Romans 8:14). We recognize that apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5), and so we lean not on our own understanding but acknowledge You in all our ways, trusting that You will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Lord Jesus, we long to hear Your voice, for Your sheep know Your voice, and You lead us out to find pasture (John 10:3-4). Guide us in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3), that our lives may reflect Your glory and bring honor to Your holy name.
We are grateful for the ministry of Your holy angels, who are sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14). We pray that You would command Your angels concerning us, to guard us in all our ways (Psalm 91:11). Deliver us from temptation, and lead us not into it, but deliver us from the evil one (Matthew 6:13). Strengthen us to resist the devil, that he may flee from us (James 4:7), and keep us from the snares of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).
Father, we ask for Your favor to surround us as a shield (Psalm 5:12), and we thank You in advance for the answers to our prayers, knowing that whatever we ask in Your name, You will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13). We rejoice in the truth that all Your promises are "Yes" and "Amen" in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20), and we hold fast to the hope set before us, knowing that faith pleases You (Hebrews 11:6).
We lift up our requests to You with thanksgiving, trusting that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). May our love abound more and more in knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent, being sincere and without offense until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:9-10). Help us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called, with all lowliness, gentleness, longsuffering, bearing with one another in love (Ephesians 4:1-2).
Lord, we also pray for those who may be struggling with sin or walking in disobedience to Your Word. If there are areas in our lives where we have strayed from Your will, reveal them to us, that we may repent and turn back to You. Your Word warns us that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). We confess that there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and we declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:11).
We rebuke every spirit of fear, doubt, and unbelief, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand firm in the faith, knowing that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We resist the devil and all his schemes, and we draw near to You, knowing that You will draw near to us (James 4:7-8). Cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and create in us a clean heart, O God, renewing a right spirit within us (Psalm 51:10).
Father, we thank You for the gift of eternal life, which is in Your Son, Jesus Christ. We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God, knowing that we have been justified by faith and have peace with You through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1). May we walk in the light as You are in the light, having fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ Your Son cleansing us from all sin (1 John 1:7). We pray that our lives would be a living testimony to Your grace and mercy, that others may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
In all things, we seek to do Your will, Father, that our lives may be a fragrant offering, acceptable to You (Ephesians 5:2). May we be found faithful, running with endurance the race set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2). We commit ourselves to You, trusting that You will complete the good work You have begun in us until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). To You be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
