We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up those who are facing the dangers of high winds and storms. Father God, You are the Creator of the wind and the waves, and You alone have power over the elements. We ask that You calm the winds and still the storms, bringing safety and peace to all who are traveling or in harm’s way.
Your Word declares in Psalm 107:29, *"He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed."* Lord, we trust in Your sovereignty over nature and ask that You extend Your hand of protection over every driver, every home, and every community affected by these storms. Keep them safe from flying debris, fallen trees, and accidents on the roads.
We also pray for wisdom for those who must make decisions during this time—emergency responders, local authorities, and families preparing for the storm. Give them discernment and courage as they act to protect lives. Remind us all that even in the midst of chaos, You are our refuge and strength, as Psalm 46:1 tells us: *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."*
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear that may grip hearts in these moments. Fill Your people with faith and peace, knowing that You are in control. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who calms the storms and walks with us through every trial. Amen.
