Beloved of All
Jesus please let my son go to sleep. I do not understand why this prayer is never answered. It is destroying the household and affecting everyone's health, mental And physical. He stays up all night and this is the worst yet. He has never stayed up this long. Nothing works. Please let his doctor be agreeable to prescribe something. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

We hear your desperate cry for help, and our hearts ache with yours as you endure this relentless trial. The sleepless nights, the strain on your household, and the toll on everyone’s health, physical and mental, are not unseen by our Heavenly Father. You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, trusting that God hears the cries of His children, even when answers seem delayed or silent.

First, we must address the weight of your question: "Why is this prayer never answered?" Scripture reminds us that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect, even when we cannot see it. Isaiah 55:8-9 tells us, "‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ says Yahweh. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.’" This does not mean God is indifferent, far from it. He is working even in the waiting, shaping patience, dependence, and trust in Him. But we also recognize that spiritual warfare may be at play here. Ephesians 6:12 warns, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." We must not underestimate the enemy’s desire to disrupt peace, especially in a home where Christ is honored.

We rebuke in Jesus’ name any spirit of restlessness, anxiety, or torment that may be afflicting your son. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that we may have life, and have it abundantly. We declare that your son’s mind, body, and spirit are covered by the blood of Jesus, and we command every hindrance to sleep to be broken now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Psalm 127:2 says, "It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones." God is the giver of sleep, and we stand on this promise.

We also lift up the practical steps you are taking, seeking medical help is wise and responsible. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." As you pursue both spiritual and medical solutions, we pray for favor with his doctor, that they would be led by God’s wisdom to provide the help your son needs. May the Lord open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and grant discernment to all involved.

Now, let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious family and their son. Lord, You see the exhaustion, the frustration, and the fear that grips their home. You are the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4), and we ask You to intervene where human efforts have failed. We break every assignment of the enemy against this young man’s sleep in Jesus’ name. We declare that his mind is at peace, his body is at rest, and his spirit is yielded to You. Father, we ask for Your supernatural peace to flood his room, his thoughts, and his entire being. Let the words of Psalm 4:8 settle over him: ‘In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety.’

We pray for the doctor’s appointment, may Your wisdom guide the conversation, and may the right solutions be revealed. Give this family patience in the waiting and faith to trust You even when answers are delayed. Strengthen their bodies, renew their minds, and restore their hope. Remind them that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even when the night feels endless.

Lord, we also ask for protection over this household. Guard their health, their unity, and their faith. Let this trial draw them closer to You, not push them away. And Father, if there is any unconfessed sin, any unforgiveness, or any open door to the enemy, reveal it so it can be closed in Jesus’ name. We thank You that You are faithful, and we trust You to bring breakthrough. In the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen."

To you, dear one, we say: Do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9 encourages us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." This season is not forever. Keep pressing into God’s presence, keep standing on His promises, and keep fighting the good fight of faith. You are not fighting alone, we are with you, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts is your defender. Hold fast to His Word, and watch Him move.

Father thank You for Your Mercy and attention, care, and timing. Please restore her hope and give her understanding in how our own free will her sons free will does affect the outcome of Your work in their lives. Please help this son to follow a healthy regimen and comfort her heart and mind and help her to trust You are at work in her son/family life thank You that she continues to pray daily in Jesus Name Amen.

We hear how worn down you are, and we’re not surprised. When one person in a home cannot sleep, the exhaustion ripples through everyone. You’ve been carrying this long enough for it to affect your own health, and the desperation in your words is real, especially with this being the worst stretch yet. That kind of sustained drain makes hope hard to find, and you’ve been faithful to keep asking Jesus even when the answer hasn’t come the way you’ve needed it to.

Sometimes sleep problems have an underlying medical or neurological cause that isn’t obvious from the outside, and what works for one person does nothing for another. That’s not a failure on your part, it’s a signal that you need more information. You’re already pursuing the right course by asking his doctor specifically about a prescription. A compassionate physician will want to know exactly what you’ve described here: the worsening pattern and the toll it’s taking on the whole household.

To help that appointment go as well as possible, you might keep a simple log for a few days, noting when he lies down, when (or if) he falls asleep, and how long he stays asleep. Specific data often helps a doctor move from general reassurance to targeted treatment. If the first medication isn’t a fit or the provider seems hesitant, don’t hesitate to ask for a referral to a sleep specialist, you are his best advocate right now.

We’re praying with you, not just for rest for your son but for fresh strength and clarity for you.

Father, in Jesus’ name we lift up this weary mom and her son. You see the exhaustion that has gripped their home. We ask You to bring rest to this child, deep, restorative sleep that feels impossible right now. Give his doctor wisdom and a willing heart to provide real help. Guard each family member’s body and mind in the meantime, and let hope rise again even before the answer is fully visible. Amen.

Often the heart cries out in the night watches, and the heavens seem brass. It is a sore trial when sleep is withheld from a beloved child and the household is shaken to its foundations. Yet settle this in your soul, He is holy, He is good, and His delays are not denials. There are times when unanswered prayer proves a Fatherly chastisement for some sin unconfessed, or a gracious admonition to search the heart. It may be that the very agony of this protracted vigil is God’s gymnasium, strengthening the sinews of your faith for future usefulness. Do not let the enemy whisper that your prayers are vain; God keeps a file of every petition and the long-dated bill will be honored in due season.

Examine your own spirit. Are the prayers offered with that holy fervency which overcomes the icicles of a cold heart? Is there humility, or does a secret self-conceit drag the chariot wheels? The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much, strip every request of all reliance upon the arm of flesh, even the hope of medicine, and plead the promises alone. And do not let a sense of unworthiness drive you from the mercy seat. It is a poor thing to say, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful woman.” Rather cry, “Come nearer to me, O Lord, and quicken me in Your way.”

This trial calls you to intercessory wrestling such as Jacob knew. Plead with arguments, spread the case before the throne, and take hold of the angel of the covenant, saying, “I will not let You go except You bless me and my son.” Prayer for our offspring is a sacred duty woven into the new nature; it has stayed plagues and raised the dead. But remember, the answer often comes in a path we did not chart. Jacob expected Esau’s wrath and found a brother’s embrace; he prayed for deliverance and received a lifelong limp. God may give healing through the physician, or He may give sleep without medicine, or He may give a better thing, the quieting of your soul while the storm rages.

In the meantime, cast yourself upon the prayers of the church. A family without a head is like a flock without a shepherd, and you have been driven to the shepherd’s crook. Let the public prayer meeting be your refuge; gather two or three to agree on earth that it may be done for you by the Father in heaven. Unholiness hinders prayer, but the united supplications of the saints break through the clouds. Persevere, for the dawn of revival may be at the breaking of this very trial. Your sighs and tears are not fruitless; they are treasured in the King’s archives. Do not give up praying because you feel you cannot pray, pray twice as much. The child of God needs quickening in private devotion and at the family altar. Rise, plead the precious blood, and expect that He who hears the young ravens will, in His own tender time, command quietness to your dwelling and peace to your son.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The anguish of your household is not hidden from the Lord, yet consider: if we sleep in soul, the help of others will profit us nothing, but even with this we perish. It is a good thing to enjoy the prayer of the Saints, but it is when we ourselves also are on the alert. Why then do you cry out only for your son’s rest, and not first for your own wakefulness? For where tears are, there is great wisdom and heedfulness. Go to Hannah; she did not betake herself to sleep or repose, but poured out her affliction before the Lord, and offered her child back to God even before it was given. Have you so dedicated your son, or do you seek only relief?

The physician’s medicine may seem a small thing, yet God often works through such means. But do not place your hope there, nor imagine the prayer unanswered because the night is long. If He has not yet granted sleep, it may be that He would raise up something greater. That damsel, when she had risen, died again; but what God intends for your household, if you endure, abides in immortal being. So stand steadfast, and do not suffer your foot to be moved by despair.

Watch therefore in the night, not with anxious pacing but with prayer as a weapon. For every day has its own tempest, and we especially need prayer early and by night. Yet remember how Christ allowed the disciples to sleep before His passion, that they might see their own weakness and His sufficiency. Perhaps this trial reveals where your trust truly lies. His will and the Father’s are one, and He hears always. Cry out then with tears, but also with submission, saying, “If Thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of Thine handmaid, and wilt give rest, I will give back to Thee the gift entire.” Then, whether sleep comes or tarries, you will not be shaken.
