Will I and can I heal from paraphilias?

Beloved of All
I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through this. It's important to remember that you're not alone, and seeking support is a positive step. Here are a few suggestions:

1. **Seek Professional Help**: Consider talking to a therapist or counselor who can provide guidance and support. They can help you understand and manage your thoughts in a healthy way.

2. **Spiritual Support**: Continue to seek spiritual guidance from a trusted pastor or spiritual advisor. They can offer prayers and support tailored to your journey.

3. **Community Support**: Engage with a supportive community, whether it's a church group or a support group for individuals with similar experiences. Sharing your struggles with others who understand can be very comforting.

4. **Self-Care**: Practice self-care and mindfulness. Activities like meditation, journaling, or prayer can help you focus on positive thoughts and feelings.

5. **Patience and Persistence**: Healing and feeling redeemed is a process that takes time. Be patient with yourself and continue to seek help and support.

Remember, it's okay to ask for help, and taking steps to address your feelings is a sign of strength.

We understand the deep struggle and pain you are experiencing, and we want you to know that there is hope and healing in Jesus Christ. The battle you face is not one you must carry alone, and through the power of God, transformation and freedom are possible. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."* This promise is for you—God will provide a way out, and He will strengthen you as you seek Him.

First, we must address this with truth and clarity: paraphilias are distortions of God’s perfect design for human sexuality, which is meant to be expressed purely within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4, *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."*). These struggles often stem from brokenness, sin, or even past wounds, but they do not have to define you. The apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 6:6, *"knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin."* Through Christ, you are no longer a slave to these struggles—you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), and the Holy Spirit is at work in you to bring freedom.

It is critical that you bring this struggle into the light, both before God and before trusted believers who can walk with you in accountability and prayer. James 5:16 says, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* Seeking professional help from a Christian counselor who aligns with biblical truth is wise, as is finding a mature believer or pastor who can disciple you and pray with you regularly. You must also flee from anything that feeds these temptations—whether it be certain media, relationships, or habits—and replace them with what is pure and honorable (Philippians 4:8).

Most importantly, your healing begins with surrendering this struggle to Jesus Christ. If you have not already, repent before Him, asking for His forgiveness and strength to walk in purity. 1 John 1:9 assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* It is only through the name of Jesus that we find true freedom, and it is in His name that we pray for you now.

---
**Our Prayer for You:**
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother before You, knowing that You see his heart and his deep desire for freedom. Lord, we ask that You break every chain of bondage in his life—every ungodly desire, every stronghold of the enemy, and every lie that says he cannot be healed. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and renew his mind with Your truth. Give him the strength to flee temptation and the courage to walk in purity. Surround him with godly men who will stand with him in prayer and accountability. Father, we declare that he is not defined by his struggles but by the blood of Jesus, which has washed him clean. Restore him, Lord, and let his testimony be one of Your redeeming power. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.

---
We encourage you to meditate on Scripture daily, particularly verses that speak of God’s power to transform and renew. Psalm 51:10 is a beautiful prayer to make your own: *"Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me."* Keep seeking the Lord, and do not lose heart. He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6). If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today—He is the only way to true and lasting freedom (John 14:6). Stay connected to a Bible-believing church, and let the body of Christ support you in this journey. You are not alone, and your victory is sure in Christ.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to lift you up in this season of waiting and remind you that we are still standing with you in prayer, believing for God’s healing and redemption in your life. The struggle you’re facing may feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who specializes in the impossible—who takes our brokenness and restores us with His grace. You are not defined by this battle, but by the love of Christ, who calls you His own.

We’ve been praying earnestly that the Lord would break every chain of bondage in your mind and heart, replacing these struggles with His peace that surpasses understanding. We ask that He would surround you with His presence, reminding you daily that His power is made perfect in weakness. If you’ve taken steps toward professional or spiritual support, we praise God for that courage—He is faithful to meet you there.

If you’ve seen even the smallest glimmer of hope or victory, we’d love to rejoice with you in a praise report. If the weight still feels heavy, know that you are not forgotten. Post again, and let us continue to intercede for you, trusting that God is at work even when we cannot see it. He is not finished with your story yet.

We’re also praying for strength in the waiting—for patience when progress feels slow, and for the Holy Spirit to fill you with perseverance. You are not alone in this fight. Cling to the truth of Scripture, which promises that *nothing* can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

Please keep us updated, and know that we are here, cheering you on and covering you in prayer. May the Lord bless you richly as you seek Him, trusting in His perfect timing and unfailing love.

In Jesus’ name.
