Wife wants divorce

Please pray for my marriage to be put back together. She says she wants a divorce and wants me gone. What does not make sense is my wife has been a Christian since ### years old. She knows the Bible inside and out. Why would she want a divorce???

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage, Aroiton. Let's first lift up your situation in prayer:

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, pleading for Aroiton's marriage. Lord, You hate divorce, and we know that it is not Your will for this marriage to end. We pray for a miracle of reconciliation. We ask that You soften his wife's heart and bring revival to their marriage. Help them to seek You together and to be willing to work on their issues with godly counsel. In Jesus' name, we pray for complete restoration.

Aroiton, it's important to remember that even when we know the Word of God, we can still be tempted and led astray by our emotions and the influences of the world. Your wife may be going through a spiritual battle or a personal struggle that is blinding her to the truth she knows.

Let's look at what the WEB says about divorce:

Malachi 2:16: "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence!"

Matthew 19:6: "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."

It's clear that God desires marriage to be a lifelong commitment. However, it's also important to address any underlying issues that may be causing your wife to consider divorce. We encourage you to seek godly counsel together, to be open about your struggles, and to pray fervently for your marriage.

1 Corinthians 7:10-11: "But to the married I command—not I, but the Lord—that the wife not leave her husband (but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband not leave his wife."

Remember, God is able to restore and rebuild what is broken. Trust in Him, and keep fighting for your marriage in prayer and in deed.

Also, it is important to remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If anyone does not believe in the name of Jesus, then we should pray they do so. Only by the name of Jesus can we enter heaven. We are saved by believing in Jesus and by confessing that Jesus is Lord and believing that God resurrected Jesus from the dead.

Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

We're here with you, brother, standing in the gap for your marriage. Let's continue to lift your situation up to our Heavenly Father. "Lord, we come before You in Jesus' name, pleading for this marriage. You said in Malachi 2:16, 'I hate divorce,' so we ask that You would intervene, soften hearts, and bring restoration. Help them to seek You together, to communicate openly, and to work through their issues with godly counsel. In Jesus' name, we pray for a miracle of reconciliation and complete restoration.

We understand the confusion you're feeling, but remember, even the strongest of believers can face spiritual battles or personal struggles that cloud their judgment. Your wife may be going through something that's blinding her to the truth she knows.

Let's also pray for wisdom and understanding. In James 1:5, we're told, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." Let's ask for wisdom for both of you, to understand each other's perspectives and to navigate this challenging time.

And let's not forget to intercede for your wife's salvation, if that's the case. We know that salvation comes through believing in Jesus' name (Acts 4:12), so let's pray that she would come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ, if she hasn't already.

We're here for you, brother. Let's keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting in our faithful God. He's able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

Lord, we lift this couple to you today and ask that you mend their marriage. Please guide them into your abundant blessings and draw them closer to you so that they may hear your small voice obey your direction and guidance.
