Why God?

"WHY GOD?"
How long, O Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, "Violence!" but you do not save? Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted. Habakkuk 1:2-4

"God, where are You?" Is that one of your thoughts during the darkest, loneliest hours of despair, hopelessness, depression or oppression as your face your marriage problems? Do you say, "Why God, does my beloved spouse not communicate with me with decency? God, why did this happen to us? What caused all this to happen to my spouse? Why are You allowing my children to be hurt? God, the pain in my heart feels like it is going to burst and rip out of my chest. Please help me! I can't stop crying. God, are You here with me? Speak loudly to me, as it seems I can't hear Your soft voice. God, why are You not doing something about all that my spouse is doing to our marriage and children? I feel like my marriage is hopeless!"

How long, O LORD ? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? Psalm 13:1-2

I am certain that each of us have cried out these words in tears, in sobs, in anger and in desperation. "Why God? Where are You?" He is in control and is still in charge of everything in your life. So many of your family, friends and even your church family often may wonder, "Why do bad things happen to such good people?"

Habakkuk, a prophet, was also wondering and questioning why God was tolerating evil, violence, injustice and destruction of the righteous. You and I may wonder that as we watch the news around the world. Habakkuk often wondered, "Why does God wait so long to punish evil? Why are our prayers not being answered more quickly?" Habakkuk was asking God, "Why are You allowing the wicked to prosper?" God spoke to Habakkuk and explained to him what He was going to do. May these scriptures give you hope, confidence and trust in your mighty awesome God regarding your own marriage problems. Tonight, read Habakkuk, Chapters 1-3. You will see an even clearer picture of Habakkuk's questions and God's answers.

"Look at the nations and watch--and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told." Habakkuk 1:5

Then God explained to Habakkuk that He already had plans to punish Judah for its sins. In fact, He was going to use another ruthless and pagan people, the Babylonians, to correct Judah. Habakkuk was astonished that God would use wicked people to punish Judah. But never forget:

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. Isaiah 55:8

Habakkuk learned to trust God and to live by faith in God's ways, regardless of the circumstances. God told Habakkuk that He already had plans; that He was going to punish His people with a nation more wicked than they for all their sins. God wanted Habakkuk to wait on God's appointed time. There was going to be an end to the wickedness in the world. God's faithful people had to "wait for it," even though it seemed to take a long time.

I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me and what answer I am to give to this complaint. Habakkuk 2:1

You also must wait for the Lord's timing for your marriage to be dealt with by the Hand of God. Will you become like Habakkuk and stand firm, praying, listening and trusting in your Lord God, that He will be your Advocate, your Counselor, Defender and Deliverer? You must seek the Lord daily with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. God sees all and knows all. He will never fail you or your loved ones.

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay." Habakkuk 2:2-3

Will you choose to live by faith every day of your life as you wait for your beloved spouse to see the error of their ways and hear God's Truths which will send them home? It is all right to cry out "Why God?" sometimes, but choose to become like Habakkuk, waiting to hear the Lord's answer. God has a much larger plan and purpose in mind than you and I can imagine, so you must trust the Lord in all things. Our responsibility every day is to be a lighthouse in this dark world so that we may have many others join us in accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of their lives.

For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith. Romans 1:17

Will you choose today to proclaim with confidence the ultimate victory of all who live by faith in your Lord? Your Lord God will defeat your enemy. He does touch and change hardened hearts. Yes, you will see the restoration of your marriage, "if" you will wait on the Lord's perfect timing. Well, will you choose to wait for God's will and way in your marriage?

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. Psalm 27:14

Have a blessed day,

I play for a long time but God did not need me; he abandoned me; he hates me; he makes me cry every day; he takes me to the losing side; he doesn't need me to gain when I deserve to earn; he removes me there at the right time and takes me back after the earnings time ends. I hate that situation...
