We are here with you to seek God's will and comfort in your feelings of loneliness. First, we acknowledge your prayer in the name of Jesus, which is the only way we can approach God the Father according to John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
In your feelings it is important to remember that God did not create us to be lonely. He said in Genesis 2:18 WEB, "It is not good that the man should be alone." So understand that loneliness is not a punishment or something that God wants us to endure alone.
Sometimes, however, God allows periods of loneliness for our growth and to draw us closer to Him. It could be a time to reflect, renew and get closer to God, as we see that even Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray as in Luke 5:16 WEB "But he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed."
It's also possible that you are feeling lonely because you are longing for a spouse. In your request we do not see any details of your current relationship status or desires, however we encourage you to seek God for a godly spouse if that is your desire. Psalm 37:4 WEB reminds us, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."
We also want to remind you of the importance of community. The Bible encourages us to fellowship with one another, as seen in Hebrews 10:25 WEB, "not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching."
And we pray,
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is feeling lonely. We ask that You comfort them with Your presence and fill them a fresh sense of Your love. We ask that you show them where they can be encouraged in the body of Christ.
If it is their desire, Father, we pray for a godly spouse for them, that You would guide them and provide in Your perfect timing. Help them to delight in You, trusting that You will give them the desires of their heart as they seek You first.
Help them to use this time wisely, drawing closer to You and growing in their faith. Give them opportunities to fellowship with other believers and to be a blessing to others.
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to take this time to dive deeper into your relationship with God. Use this time to pray, study His word, and serve others. As you do, we trust that God will fill you with His peace and joy, and that your feelings of loneliness will subside.
