I Samuel 17: 16. And the Philistine drew near every morning and Presented himself forty days.
I Samuel 17:23-27 And as he talked with them, behold there came up the champion, the Philistine , of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spoke according to the same words and David heard them.
Vs. 24, And all the men of Israel when they saw the man, fled from him and were sore afraid. Vs. 25. And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up ? Surely to defy Israel he is come up: and it shall be, that the man that killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, And will give him his daughter, and make his father's house Free in Israel.
There was a big challenge before Israel. All the soldiers including King Saul went into hiding when this man came on the scene. However David a young man at that time took up the challenge and made it his. He could not believe that all these men were running away from one Man Goliath, The Philistines.
W e see that in a moment David sized up this man in comparison with his God Jehovah, and saw it, this Goliath was no much For Jehovah God.
When we are faced with a challenge, we must size up the enemy with the Power and Size of Our God. As far as David was concerned, the game was over, this uncircumcised Philistine was not going to see then next day for was to be a dead man. David could not comprehend the audacity of this man to defy the Armies of the Living God. David determined within himself and his God, that today was to be the end of Goliath.
We need to have a similar resolve, that the devil is not going to have us in but we are going to fight for the deliverance of our marriage, the family and our finances. We need to put God First and trust in his invisible Power. Well that day David managed to kill Goliath and cut off his head and fed it to the birds of the Air. When you remember to use the name of Jesus, You shall defeat the enemy.,
Let us keep claiming for our reward in the Lord, For Our God is Able.
