Some things there's a right and a wrong, and others, it just depends on the person.See where this one falls. Being alone isn't popular with most people. Some actually get depressed when alone.{even some Christians.]They may quote that we were created to be "social", and when alone feel depressed. Being alone is a stigma to most. But I see it differently.I see ADVANTAGES to being alone. When others are around, I can't concentrate on something, maybe they're a chatterbox who starts bending my ear when I'm trying to do something.{or other distractions they do}Also, it could be someone who I consider as having annoying, or stupid ways that irritate me.}Now, looking at it Biblically, what does the Bible state on solitude vs.the other extreme, standing in New York on New Years Eve,and you have to fight your way through the crowd just to use a bathroom?{Oh, that's the other thing, the more people, the more competiton for things. If I was the only car on the highway, I could do the same 15 miles much quicker than, say, on the L.A. freeway at rush hour{And without hearing a thousand blasting horns, either.}Ride on the L.A. freeway at rush hour, or the New York subway at rush hour, then tell me that's a better situation than being alone.Anyway, the Bible. When Jesus went into the wilderness for 40 days to be tempted of the devil, did He take 4000 people with Him,to keep Him company{distract Him} or was He alone? When Moses got the 10 commandments on Mount Sanai, did he bring half the population of the world with him, or was he alone? So it would seem that at least in certain instances, for spiritual growth, we need to get in our "quiet zone" away from all distractions. Now the question is, those who prefer being alone because of the advantages mentioned vs. the "I always want others around me" group, is there a right way and a wrong way in this debate, OR is it just a matter of personal choice?
