The Dawn of Revival; or, Prayer Speedily Answered
Prayer that is earnest and persistent brings immediate answers and deepens our trust in God.
Thinking and Turning
Reflecting on your life leads to turning from sin and aligning with God’s truth for renewal.
A Bundle of Myrrh
Christ is supremely precious to believers, bringing them joy, preservation, and constant desire for his fellowship.
We have heard your heart in this time of waiting and uncertainty and we join with you in seeking God's will together in Jesus' name. We understand how heavy four days of silence can feel when you care deeply for someone in a long distance courtship, and how the mind can quickly move to worry and questions.

We want to gently encourage you to bring this anxiety to the Lord first. He sees you, He knows where your boyfriend is, and He is near even when another person feels far away. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

We also want to lovingly speak into your relationship as you have described him as your boyfriend. In Scripture we view being a boyfriend or girlfriend as courtship with the goal being marriage to another Christian believer, not simply a partnership to enjoy for a time. Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, as Hebrews 13:4 teaches, and it is God's design as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. That means we encourage you to keep this courtship pure, honoring God with your bodies and your hearts, for sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and does not honor the Lord. We also encourage you to ask whether this man is a committed follower of Christ and whether you both are clearly moving toward godly marriage. 2 Corinthians 6:14 asks, What fellowship has light with darkness, and reminds us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. A long distance courtship especially needs that clear foundation, honest communication, shared faith, and wise counsel.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says, If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray and find peace even in waiting.

We lift you up now in prayer together.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift this dear one to You who is feeling anxious and alone in this silence. Lord, You know where this young man is, You know his heart and his circumstances, and we ask for Your hand of protection and guidance over him. If there is any harm or struggle keeping him from communicating, we pray You would keep him safe and give him wisdom to act responsibly and lovingly. We pray for this courtship, that if it is Your will, You would lead it toward a godly marriage that honors You, and if it is not Your will, You would make that clear with grace and truth. Give our sister peace that surpasses understanding, help her to trust in You with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding, as Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches, and help her to wait for You with courage, for Psalm 27:14 says, Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. Guard her heart from fear and from making this relationship an idol above You, and help her to seek You first. We pray for pure hearts, for honest and timely communication, and for wisdom for next steps. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord while you wait, to pray for this young man rather than anxiously checking constantly, and if you have reached out kindly already, to give a little more time and then seek wise, godly counsel about how to communicate healthy expectations and boundaries going forward. The Lord is with you in this waiting, and He will direct your paths as you acknowledge Him.

We hear how heavy these four days of silence have felt, and how much you just want to know he is okay. Waiting without any word in a long distance relationship can leave your mind racing and your heart restless, and it makes sense you are feeling anxious and on edge.

When we cannot see or hear someone, it is easy for our thoughts to fill in the quiet with the worst possibilities. That does not mean those fears are true, it just means uncertainty is hard to carry alone. Try not to sit with it by yourself.

One steady step that may help is to send one calm, brief check-in if you have not already, something simple that lets him know you care and would like to hear from him, and then give it some space. After that, try to keep to your normal rhythms, stay connected with a trusted friend or family member in person, and bring the worry to God in prayer when it rises rather than checking your phone over and over.

We are praying with you for peace while you wait and for wisdom for what comes next.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift our friend to You. You see this waiting and the ache for reassurance. Quiet the swirl of worry and guard her heart with Your peace. Give her wisdom to know how to reach out and how to rest, and guide both of them toward what is good and clear. Help her feel Your nearness and care today. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Four days of silence can make the heart restless and the mind run to many anxious thoughts, and it is tender of you to bring this burden to prayer rather than to bear it alone. The Lord hears prayers from a distance and He regards the waiting soul with tenderness, and there is mercy to be found even in this present unease.

You have learned what many of us learn slowly, that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. When we are in a hurry to do something or other, that something often does more mischief than would have happened if we had kept still, resting in the Lord and waiting patiently for Him. To tell your anxiety only to yourself brings no good, but to tell it to the living God, who is a thinking, active, working and personal God with a great warm loving heart, brings peace.

Scripture says, Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me, for my soul trusts in You, yes, in the shadow of Your wings will I make my refuge until these calamities pass. That is the place for you now, under His wings, trusting Him not only for a message from another person, but for your whole life and future. As one has said, Only trust Him, only trust Him, only trust Him now. Trust Him as you feel yourself sinking and you shall swim. You are not asked first to feel calm and then to trust Him, you are to trust Him for the calm itself.

Waiting upon God is not wasted time. It is like a servant waiting to know his masters will, or a traveler waiting for his guide. Waiting upon God is the way to renew our strength until we mount up with eagle's wings. It breeds peace within the soul, and when a man is perfectly at rest within, he cares little for trials or foes. It also makes us small and makes the world and its affairs appear in their real littleness, so that we are not shaken by every silence or disappointment.

Therefore let your prayer be not only, let me hear from him, but, Lord, let me hear from You, and let me be faithful to You in this relationship. If this friendship is to be ordered toward that holy covenant of marriage between one man and one woman for life, ask the Lord to keep it pure, honest and upright, reserved for that covenant alone, and to give you both wisdom and self control. If there are things in it that would not honor Him, ask Him to reveal them and to give you grace to turn from them. In all prudence and uprightness, rely simply and entirely upon Him for your temporal and eternal good.

We will pray for you to that end.

O living God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness, shine in this heart with the knowledge of Your glory in the face of Jesus Christ. Forgive sin, cover this soul with the merits of Your Son, and teach this one to trust only in You, the true and living God. Grant calm in place of anxiety, patience in place of haste, and contentment to take any place so long as Your love may be known and shown. Give wisdom concerning this long distance affection, keep both lives in purity and truth, and direct the path according to Your perfect will. If it be for good, grant clear and kind communication in Your time. If not, give strength to wait and to follow Your guidance. Let Your will be done, and let this soul find its refuge and consolation in You alone. Amen.

Keep waiting upon Him, and seek to realize His presence more and more, for they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
