Humble Prayer Partner
I was talking to a good friend of mine,we use to work together. She was telling me about her husband, and how much he loves her. I asked her how long has they been married, she said that they have been married for 2 years now. I asked her what was they doing to celebrate being married for 2 years. She told me that she didn't know,she said she would have to wait and see what her husband wants to do. The week when I saw my friend, she tried to act like she didn't see me, so I ran to catch up with her before she got into her car. I spoke to her and she said that she could not talk right now she was in a hurry. So I told her I would talk with her later. When she drove off I got this feeling that something wasn't right. when I went back inside the church to see if my ride was ready to go, I couldn't stop thinking about friend, I decided to call her just to make sure she was ok, when she answered her phone, I could hear her husband in background cussing at her,and telling her to hang up the phone. She told me she couldn't talk right now, I had this feeling in my stomach that I have never felt before, I didn't know exactly what to do. I saw my pastor and asked him if I could talk with him for a minute. My pastor took me into his office,and asked me what could he help me with, I told him about what had happened with my friend and about the phone call. He told me that because we didn't know we're my friend and her husband lived that the only thing we could do was pray that everything was ok with them. The week went by quickly I couldn't wait until Sunday so that I could make sure my friend was ok. Sunday morning I hurried to get to church early. When I saw my friend enter the church she was wearing sunglasses and had on a lot of makeup.She came and sat down beside me and she started crying uncontrollably,I asked her if she wanted to go outside and talk about what was going on.When we got into her car she begin to tell me about how her husband has been hitting on her and how she wanted me to tell her how she could save her marriage, she started to make up excuses on how she was doing things to provoke her husband and cause him to get angry and make him hit her,when she took off her sunglasses, her eyes was swollen, I ask her if she wanted to go to the hospital,that was how swollen her face was, she told me that she wasn't going to come to church today, but her husband told her to go, because he had something to do. When I asked her about how long he has been hitting on her, she told me that he only hits her when she deserve it, she said her husband loves her very much. I tried to explain to her that love isn't supposed to hurt. I finally convinced her that she needed to go to the hospital, because I felt like she was in a lot of pain by the way she can
could hardly move. When we got to the emergency room, she told the doctor that she fell down the stairs, she said nothing about her abuse from her husband. I ask her if she wanted me to contact her husband, she said no because she didn't want to make him mad, so l called her mother instead, her mother was very upset when she got to the hospital, she begin to demand that her daughter tell her what was going on. The doctor told my friend that she was going to have to stay in the hospital for a few days, because of the broken rib's she had. Her family wanted to contact her husband to try to find out what was going on. A few days o passed by and my friend begin to feel better, but all she wanted to do was get back home, her husband would call about everyday, but he never came to the hospital. Her family begged her to not go back to her husband, but she kept telling all of us, how much he loves her. She went back home,and today two days later, she is back in the hospital,in a coma, the doctor's said her changes for coming out of it is 50/50. Her husband is now finally in jail. Please pray for my friend and her family.
