🙏 What to Say and How to Say It, Jn 12:49; Grace to Fast, Isa 58:6-14; Gracious Words, Zech 1:13, Comfort, Isa 40:1-2, Peace, 1 Cor 7:15

Father, I ask what for Jesus said to be my prayer, "I don’t speak on My own authority. The Father who sent Me commands me what to say and how to say it," John 12:49 [1]. Like apples of gold in settings of silver, so is the right word at the right time, Prov 25:11

I forgive and pray for ###'s salvation, Rom 10:1, but after years, am hearing counsel and sensing You are shifting gears, 1 Cor 7:15, Isa 42:9, and ask for wisdom in all that, James 1:5, Col 1:9, Col 4:12, Phil 1:9-10. Without confession, repentance, and conversion, we can only go so far -- “'Truly I tell you,' He said, 'unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven,'" Matt 18:3. It's evident there is no fruit for You and ### is "broke the yoke and burst the bond," Jer 5:5...

It was while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, Acts 13:2 -- please help me hunger and thirst for righteousness in these situation, and help others share this burden with me for ###, me, our child, the entire situation and all that’s transpired, good, bad and ugly, to be turned for glory, praise and honor, Isa 58:6-14, turned together for good, Rom 8:28. Let us plead the cause of the widower, and defend the cause of real humans that by foolish abandonment was made to be orphaned, Jer 5:28, which if we can't visit the widower or orphan, James 1:27, we can at least pray for them...

Please grant powerful grace and strength within me, grant grace to humble my soul with fasting, to control the tongue while speaking truth, sanctifying residual pockets of darkness with light, helping the word become flesh, as John says, John 1:14, to love You AND my NEIGHBOR (how much more my wife and children) with ALL my heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength and finances -- my thoughts, words, deeds, actions and especially my reactions -- let the word be engrafted as explained by James 1:22-23.

I believe the remedy of being sinned against is praying for their salvation -- again nothing's been confessed and repented of... I plainly state for the record I forgive everyone everything, and done as much as I can to be at peace with everyone, Rom 12:18. Salvation is still needed, 2 Tim 2:3-4, repentance isn't optional, but having overlooked times of ignorance You are now commanding everyone everywhere to repent, having fixed a day of certain judgment with justice by The Man appointed, and furnished proof to everyone by raising Him from the dead, Acts 17:31-32, 2 Pet 3:9 -- but help me walk in LOVE, Eph 5:2, let me be "filled with GRACE and truth," John 1:14.

Place and use the love of Jesus in me to publicly and privately demonstrate true love of the gospel, Gal 3:1. Let me model it and teach it to myself, ###, every family member, those near and dear and those far off and beyond to extended family, friends especially any who might consider me an enemy -- let me be a living ambassador Your love to be known and read by all people groups, everywhere, 2 Cor 3:2, “What to say and how to say it,” John 12:49 [1].

Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one, John 17:15. Sanctify us by the truth; Your Word is truth, John 17:17. Keep ###, them and us from evil people, 2 Thes 3:2, temptation, Matt 6:13, sin Zeph 3:13 and the evil one, Matt 6:13. Thank you for the angels in advance -- they're real and really do get sent ahead, Heb 13, and thank You in advance for the fact "You like to make their faces change," in Jesus' Name.

[1] “What to say and how to say it,” John 12:49 — Historical Comments: What to say (εϊπω) and how to say it (λαλήσω) -- (dicam) and (loquar), Latin Vulgate, are supposed to discriminate matter (content) and form (style of speech), as another commentator says, “My words and their manner and tone are all of them the outcome of the Father's (ἐντολὴ) command.

The word εἰπεῖν relates to the words as spoken successively; λέγειν refers to the sentiment and connection of the words.

The former relating to the SUBSTANCE, and the latter to the FORM of Jesus' utterances.

See we not that He brings His expressions with an excess of humility, that He may both win them over, and silence those who would look to persecute Him. This is why He utters words appropriate to humanity, that He may help us bridge the severity of the sayings, as being conscious that the words belong not to Him, but The Father, and are thus tailored, even suited to the weakness of the hearers.

We come before the Lord with a heavy yet hopeful heart, lifting up this situation with the earnest desire that His will be done in every aspect. You have shown great wisdom in seeking God’s direction on *what to say and how to say it*, as Jesus Himself only spoke what the Father commanded Him (John 12:49). The words we speak—whether in prayer, counsel, or daily interaction—must be seasoned with grace, truth, and divine timing, like apples of gold in settings of silver (Proverbs 25:11). Father, we ask that You anoint every word spoken in this matter, that it may carry the weight of Your authority and the tenderness of Your love.

The pain of a broken marriage is deeply felt, especially when one spouse has hardened their heart against repentance and reconciliation. We acknowledge the years of prayer, forgiveness, and longing for restoration, and we stand with you in the truth of 1 Corinthians 7:15: *"But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace."* The yoke has indeed been broken (Jeremiah 5:5), and while we mourn the loss of what was meant to be a covenant before God, we also recognize that He is doing a new thing (Isaiah 42:9). The absence of repentance and fruit in this situation is grievous, for without a turning of the heart, there can be no true reconciliation with God or man (Matthew 18:3). Yet we do not lose hope, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

We must address the reality of sin in this situation. Forgiveness has been extended, as Scripture commands (Matthew 6:14-15), but forgiveness does not negate the need for repentance. The one who has abandoned this marriage must answer to God for breaking the sacred covenant made before Him (Malachi 2:14-16). We rebuke the spirit of hardness and rebellion that has taken root, and we declare that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace—if they would but humble themselves, confess their sin, and turn to Christ. Until then, we pray for their salvation with urgency, knowing that God desires all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). But we also recognize that love does not enable sin. True love speaks the truth, even when it is painful (Ephesians 4:15).

The call to fast and seek the Lord is powerful, for fasting humbles the soul and aligns our hearts with God’s (Isaiah 58:6-14). We join with you in this spiritual discipline, asking the Lord to sharpen our hunger for righteousness and to grant wisdom in every decision (James 1:5). Fasting is not merely about abstaining from food; it is about feasting on God’s Word, allowing it to transform us from the inside out (John 1:14). Let this fast be one of intercession—not just for restoration, but for God’s glory to be revealed in every broken piece of this situation. May the Lord turn what was meant for harm into good (Romans 8:28), and may His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We lift up the child in this situation, for they are the innocent party who has been made to suffer the consequences of adult choices. The Lord is a defender of the fatherless (Psalm 68:5), and we pray that He would surround this child with His love, protection, and godly influences. May they come to know the Father’s heart through your faithfulness, and may they never doubt their worth in His eyes. We also pray for you, that the Lord would strengthen you as you navigate the challenges of single parenthood, providing wisdom, patience, and provision every step of the way. You are not alone; the Lord is your helper (Hebrews 13:6).

The tongue is a small member, but it holds the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21). We pray that your words would be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone (Colossians 4:6). Let no unwholesome talk proceed from your mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs (Ephesians 4:29). This includes the words you speak to yourself, for the enemy would love to fill your mind with lies—lies of inadequacy, bitterness, or despair. We rebuke those lies in Jesus’ name and declare that the engrafted Word of God will take root in your heart, producing fruit in every season (James 1:21-22).

We must also address the need for salvation in this situation. While you have forgiven, the one who has sinned against you has not yet turned to Christ. There is no true peace without repentance, and there is no repentance without the conviction of the Holy Spirit. We pray that the Lord would send laborers into this person’s life—people who will boldly proclaim the gospel and call them to account (Matthew 9:38). We also pray that their heart would be softened, that their eyes would be opened to their need for a Savior, and that they would run to the cross before it is too late (Hebrews 3:15). Until then, we stand on the truth of Romans 12:19: *"Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.'"*

The call to love your neighbor—especially those who have wronged you—is a high one, but it is not impossible with God (Matthew 5:44). We pray that the love of Christ would compel you, that you would see this person not as an enemy, but as someone for whom Christ died (Romans 5:8). Let your life be a living epistle, known and read by all men (2 Corinthians 3:2), so that even in this painful situation, the gospel would be proclaimed. May your actions and reactions reflect the character of Christ, who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return (1 Peter 2:23).

We also lift up the request for protection—not just for you and your child, but for all involved. The enemy would love to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that the Lord would station His angels around you, that they would go before you and guard you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11). We also pray for protection from temptation, for the enemy will seek to exploit every weakness. But God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, and He will provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Finally, we pray for the grace to walk in love, even when it is costly. Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud (1 Corinthians 13:4). Let this be the love that defines you, not the pain of the past. May the Lord fill you with His grace and truth, so that you may be a beacon of hope to others who are walking through similar valleys. And may the Lord, who began a good work in you, bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that are both heavy and hopeful. We ask that You would move mightily in this situation, that Your name would be glorified, and that Your will would be done. We pray for repentance where it is needed, for healing where there is brokenness, and for Your peace to reign in every heart. We ask that You would give wisdom, strength, and grace to walk in love, even when it is difficult. We declare that no situation is too hard for You, and we trust that You are working all things together for good. May Your Word be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105), and may we be found faithful in every season. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. We are deeply moved by your heartfelt prayer request and the earnestness with which you seek the Lord’s guidance, wisdom, and transformation. It is a sacred privilege to stand with you in agreement before our Heavenly Father, lifting up your desire to speak and act in alignment with His will, just as Jesus did—only saying and doing what the Father commanded (John 12:49). We have prayed for you, asking the Lord to grant you the grace to fast with a humble and contrite heart (Isaiah 58:6-14), to season your words with kindness and truth (Proverbs 25:11, Zechariah 1:13), and to walk in the peace that surpasses understanding (1 Corinthians 7:15).

We have interceded for the salvation of those you mentioned, trusting that the Lord hears the cries of His people (Romans 10:1) and is even now working in ways we cannot see. We have asked Him to break every yoke of bondage (Jeremiah 5:5), to turn every trial—good, bad, and ugly—into a testimony of His glory (Romans 8:28), and to defend the cause of the vulnerable as only He can (Jeremiah 5:28). We have prayed that the Lord would engraft His Word deeply into your spirit, that you would be sanctified by His truth (John 17:17), and that your life would become a living demonstration of the gospel’s love (Galatians 3:1). We have asked Him to keep you from the evil one (John 17:15), to guard your heart and mind from temptation (Matthew 6:13), and to send His angels ahead of you (Hebrews 1:13) to prepare the way for His will to be done.
