Servant
Dear Lord Jesus, What should I do. I am part of a discord group. A few times people have said some oh my…. . Being a Christian I am offended. I am not in charge of the group. If I were I would fix the issue. I don’t want to let things slide. In the past I have been part of zoos teaching evolution and lies about Catholics eating endangered tortoises. I tried to kindly address the issue to not speak of those topics causing controversy. But was ignored. I should have reported them. What should I do here? People do it out of habit. I am afraid if I report I could be banned or soemething. The other time sow as afraid of being fired. I seeked advice. I want to obey you. Give me advice please. In Jesus Name Amen.

We understand your heart’s desire to honor Christ in all things, and we commend you for seeking His will in this situation. The Lord calls us to be salt and light in a world that often rejects His truth, and this includes standing firm in our convictions even when it is uncomfortable. Let us first address the importance of speaking up when God’s name is dishonored. The Third Commandment reminds us, *"You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain, for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain"* (Exodus 20:7, WEB). When people use expressions like "oh my..." in a way that trivializes or misuses the name of God, it is not something we should ignore. As believers, we are called to *"contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints"* (Jude 1:3, WEB).

You mentioned your fear of being banned or facing backlash if you report these incidents. While it is natural to feel this way, we must remember that our ultimate allegiance is to Christ, not to man. Jesus tells us, *"Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna"* (Matthew 10:28, WEB). If you face consequences for standing for righteousness, take heart—*"Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven"* (Matthew 5:10, WEB). That said, wisdom is also needed in how we address these issues. You are not responsible for the actions of others, but you *are* responsible for how you respond.

In your previous situation at the zoo, you tried to address false teachings kindly but were ignored. This time, consider whether a private message to the offenders—spoken in love and humility—might be more effective than immediately reporting them. The Apostle Paul instructs us, *"If anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted"* (Galatians 6:1, WEB). If they persist after being gently corrected, then reporting may be necessary, trusting that God will honor your obedience. If you are removed from the group for standing for truth, remember that *"it is better to obey God rather than men"* (Acts 5:29, WEB).

Let us also consider whether this Discord group is a place where you can truly grow in your faith or if it is a stumbling block. *"Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God"* (James 4:4, WEB). If this environment consistently dishonors God and resists correction, it may be wise to prayerfully consider whether your presence there is pleasing to Him.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your wisdom and courage to fill their heart. Lord, You have called us to be set apart, to stand for Your truth even when it is unpopular. Give them the words to speak—seasoned with grace but uncompromising in righteousness—when confronted with the misuse of Your holy name. Remove any fear of man and replace it with a holy reverence for You alone. If this group is not a place where Your name is honored, show them clearly whether they should remain or depart, always seeking first Your Kingdom.

Strengthen them, Lord, and remind them that *"if God is for us, who can be against us?"* (Romans 8:31, WEB). May they walk in the confidence that obedience to You is never in vain, even if it brings temporary discomfort. Surround them with godly community where Your name is lifted high and Your truth is cherished. And if they face opposition, let them rejoice, knowing they are counted worthy to suffer for Your name’s sake.

We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all honor and praise. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to seek out fellow believers who can stand with you in prayer and accountability. Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17), and you do not have to walk this path alone. Stay rooted in Scripture, and let the Holy Spirit guide your steps. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB). Stand firm, dear brother/sister—the Lord is with you!

Dear friend, we hear your heart's cry for wisdom in this situation. We've been where you are, feeling torn between standing up for what's right and fearing the consequences. Let's remember, "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB).

First, let's pray together, "Lord, give us the courage to speak up when we see Your name dishonored. Help us to love those who offend, yet never compromise Your truth. Guide our words and actions, that we may bring honor to Your name. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Now, let's consider a few things. The Apostle Paul tells us, "If it is possible, as much as it depends on you, live peaceably with all men" (Romans 12:18, WEB). This doesn't mean we stay silent when Your name is misused, but it does mean we should try to address these issues in a way that promotes peace and understanding.

Maybe, like last time, you could start by sending a private message to those involved, expressing your concern in love. Perhaps they don't realize the impact of their words. If they persist, then it might be time to involve the group's leadership or admins.

Remember, we're not responsible for others' actions, but we are responsible for our response. Let's strive to respond with love, patience, and firmness when necessary.

Also, consider whether this group aligns with your faith. If it consistently dishonors God and resists correction, it might be wise to seek out a community where God's word is cherished.

Let's keep praying for each other, standing together in this. We're in this together, dear friend. Keep trusting in the Lord, and He will guide your steps. "The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation" (Exodus 15:2, WEB).

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting your heart and this difficult situation before the Lord with you. It has been on our minds and in our prayers these past days, asking God to grant you His wisdom, courage, and discernment as you navigate this challenging space. We know how heavy it can feel to stand for truth while also fearing the consequences—whether it’s being ignored, misunderstood, or even facing repercussions like being banned. Your desire to honor Christ in this is evident, and we admire your willingness to seek His will above all else.

We encourage you to take a moment to reflect on how the Lord may have been working in this situation since you first shared your request. Have you sensed His leading in any particular direction? Have doors opened for gentle but firm conversation, or has He placed a peace in your heart about stepping back? Sometimes, the answer comes as a clear nudge, and other times, it’s the quiet assurance that He is with you no matter the outcome. If God has provided clarity, direction, or even resolution, we would love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could be the very encouragement someone else needs as they face a similar struggle.

If you’re still wrestling with what to do, we want you to know we’re here to continue standing with you in prayer. You don’t have to carry this alone. Feel free to repost your request with any updates or new burdens on your heart, and we will keep interceding for you. Ask the Lord to give you the right words if you choose to speak up again, or the strength to trust His sovereignty if you feel led to walk away. Remember, obedience to Him is never in vain, even when the results aren’t what we expect. He sees your heart, and He will honor your faithfulness.

May the Lord surround you with His peace as you seek Him, reminding you that your identity is secure in Christ, not in the opinions or actions of others. We’re praying for you to experience His guidance in a way that leaves no room for doubt, and for His protection over your heart and your witness in this group. Keep leaning on Him—He is your refuge and strength.

We lift this up in Jesus’ Name.
