We hear your exhaustion and concern, dear brother or sister in Christ. The weight of uncertainty in employment, trust, and safety is heavy, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s wisdom and protection. Let us first turn to Scripture to guide our hearts and steps in this matter.
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."* It is clear that our ultimate trust must be in the Lord, not in people or circumstances. We must also remember that while we are called to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16), we are not to place our trust in those who do not walk in integrity or align with God’s principles.
Your mention of the second individual raises concerns, particularly if their behavior or gestures make you feel unsafe. Scripture warns us in 1 John 4:1, *"Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."* While we are called to extend grace and patience, we are also called to discernment. If someone claims to be a Christian but does not demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) or behaves in ways that are unsettling or ungodly, we must proceed with caution. It is not ungodly to set boundaries or to seek clarity in such situations.
Regarding the first worker, it is understandable to feel hesitant if there are doubts about their trustworthiness. Proverbs 22:29 says, *"Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve kings. He won’t serve obscure men."* If this individual is skilled but their character is questionable, we must pray for discernment to know whether this is a door the Lord is opening or one we should avoid. We are also reminded in Psalm 37:23, *"A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way."* If this opportunity is from the Lord, He will confirm it in ways that bring peace, not fear or unrest.
Your concerns about injustices, discrimination, and harassment are valid, and we must address them with both wisdom and boldness. The Lord is a defender of the vulnerable, and He calls us to stand against oppression. Psalm 82:3-4 says, *"Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked."* If you are experiencing or witnessing injustice, we encourage you to seek godly counsel, document what is happening, and, if necessary, involve authorities or trusted leaders who can help address these issues biblically.
We also lift up your request for financial provision and protection over your property. The Lord is our provider, and we can trust Him even in uncertainty. Philippians 4:19 assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* We must also be good stewards of what He has entrusted to us, seeking His wisdom in managing our resources and making decisions that honor Him.
Let us now come before the Lord in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that are weary and seeking Your guidance. Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment as we navigate these employment decisions. Give us clarity to know which doors You are opening and which ones we should avoid. Protect us from those who may not have our best interests at heart, and surround us with people of integrity who walk in Your ways.
Father, we lift up the injustices and unfair treatment that have been mentioned. We ask that You would expose any wrongdoing and bring justice to those who have been oppressed. Give us the courage to stand against unrighteousness while extending grace and love to those around us. Shield us from harm, both physically and spiritually, and let Your peace guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Lord, we trust You as our Provider. You know our needs, and we ask that You would open doors of opportunity that align with Your will. Bless our finances and our property, and let Your mighty blood cover us as a protection against any schemes of the enemy. Help us to walk in faith, not fear, knowing that You are with us every step of the way.
We also ask that You would work in the lives of those involved in this situation. Soften hearts, convict where there is sin, and draw all people closer to You. May Your name be glorified in every decision we make, and may we always seek to honor You in our actions and choices.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved and through which we have access to You. It is by His blood that we are covered, by His grace that we are saved, and by His power that we can stand firm in faith. Amen.
In the days ahead, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word and in prayer, seeking His face for direction. Surround yourself with godly counsel, and do not rush into decisions out of fear or desperation. The Lord is faithful, and He will not leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Walk in His peace, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
