I ran across this recently. It is a revision of the meditation "What Cancer Cannot Do." Given the many prayers over the past week or so that have been filled with doubt, fading hope, and wavering faith, I felt it was a timely reminder for all of us.
WHAT SATAN CANNOT DO
satan is so limited
he cannot cripple love ~ he cannot shatter hope
he cannot erode faith ~ he cannot eat away peace
he cannot destroy confidence ~ he cannot kill friendship
he cannot shut out memories ~ he cannot silence courage
he cannot invade the soul ~ he cannot reduce eternal life
he cannot quench the spirit ~ he cannot lesson the power of the resurrection
If satan has invaded your life, refuse to let him touch your spirit. Your body, mind, heart and soul may be severely afflicted and you will ultimately have great struggle. But if you keep trusting God's love, your spirit will remain strong. Why must we bear pain, hardship, trial, despair, temptation? I do not know the answer. I only know my God does ALL things well, and so I choose to trust in God, my all-in-all...that's right, I choose to trust. For He will bring me through what ever befalls. Our greatest enemy is not satan, but unbelief.
I refuse to surrender my relationship with God to anyone or anything ~ ever ~ least of all satan.
