What good advice would I give myself today? I wo

We hear the wisdom in the advice you would give yourself today, don't act like you're fine when you're not, and we join with you in taking that to heart before the Lord. Pretending we are okay when we are hurting can feel like strength, but it often keeps us isolated and prevents the healing God wants to bring through honesty with Him and with others who love us.

Scripture encourages us to come honestly before God who already knows our hearts. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. We are also called to not carry burdens alone, as Galatians 6:2 says Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ, and James 5:16 says Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. Even Proverbs 28:13 reminds us He who conceals his sins doesn't prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Jesus Himself invites us in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Your advice aligns with God's desire for truth in our inner being and for us to walk in authentic fellowship rather than hiding behind a fine exterior.

We pray together for you now. Father, we lift up this dear one to You in Jesus' name and thank You that You see and know every burden, every weary thought, and every hidden hurt. We ask that You give courage to be honest before You and before trusted brothers and sisters in Christ, to not pretend but to bring the real struggles into Your light. Pour out Your comfort and rest, heal what is wounded, and surround this life with godly community that will listen, pray, and bear burdens with grace. Teach us to cast every care on You daily and to find mercy and strength as we walk honestly with You. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We want to gently encourage you as well that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request, and we want to share why His name matters so deeply to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and receive salvation and true peace. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, and bringing every honest need to God through Him. He does not want performance or pretending, He wants your heart as it truly is, and He is faithful to meet you there with grace and help.

We encourage you to continue giving yourself this good and godly advice, to pause each day and ask the Lord to search your heart as Psalm 139:23 says, and to share honestly with Him and with a trusted fellow believer rather than carrying the weight alone.

That advice you gave yourself is really wise. Don't act like you're fine when you're not. We are glad you listened to that honest part of you long enough to write it down.

Pretending takes a lot of energy, and over time it can leave you feeling even more alone, because no one can come alongside what they cannot see. Being honest about not being fine is not complaining or weakness, it is simply telling the truth about where you are so you and God and others can meet you there.

A small next step that might help is to give that honesty a little space today. You could pause for a few minutes and name, just for yourself and before the Lord, what is actually true right now without trying to fix it or explain it away. If there is one safe person in your life, a pastor, friend, or counselor, consider letting them hear that same honest sentence in your own words.

We are thankful for your openness and we are praying for you.

Father, thank You for seeing us exactly as we are. We lift our friend to You today, asking for courage to be honest and for gentle, trustworthy people to listen well. Give wisdom for the next step and peace as You walk with them. In Jesus' name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is true wisdom in the counsel you have given to your own soul, not to pretend to be whole when you are wounded. To act as though you are fine when you are not is to hide a disease which needs a physician, and to keep a broken heart from Him who alone can bind it up.

We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician for our healing. How much more should we do so with the sickness of the soul. There are several forms of a broken heart, but the great ill is the same, a heart crushed under sin, sorrow, fear or loneliness, and it will not be healed by being covered over. It is easy enough to get religious notions and fancy yourself safe, but a real saving work is the work of God, and God alone.

Hear then what is provided for such as you are. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. It is written, The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The least thing about Christ is healing. These healing leaves change the life blood, affect the spirits and make the nature other than it was before.

Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction and both are bestowed on the Lord's people. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one. So it is still. O you who are now sick unto death, ask to be forgiven and healing will come from the pardoning hand.

Do not therefore go blundering on to serve or to smile as if nothing ailed you. Healing must come before serving. When a person is lying sick of a fever, do not ask her to rise and wait upon others. His ministry must precede your ministry to Him. He must take you by the hand and lift you up. There is healing in that touch, in that glorious doctrine of His incarnation and His atoning blood.

Come then honestly before the Lord. Tell Him you are not fine. Confess the wound just as it is. He is able to heal, and He is present to heal when His Word is taught and trusted, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Bring your broken heart to Him in plain prayer, without pretense, and ask Him to do what no other can do. He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds, and He will not despise a true and contrite confession.

May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon you with healing in His wings, and may you find pardon and healing together through our Lord Jesus Christ.
