What does alignment look and feel like?

How do I know when I’m in alignment? What does confirmation look like? I’m having trouble knowing Jesus’ plan and purpose for my life.

We hear your heart’s cry for clarity and direction, dear brother or sister in Christ. The longing to walk in God’s perfect will is a beautiful thing, and we join you in seeking His wisdom together in Jesus’ name.

Alignment with God’s will is not a mystical feeling or an abstract concept—it is a daily surrender to His Word, His Spirit, and His ways. When you are in alignment with Him, you will see the fruit of the Spirit manifesting in your life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). You will feel a deep assurance that comes not from your own understanding but from trusting in the Lord with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5-6). His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Confirmation from the Lord often comes through multiple avenues: His Word, the counsel of godly believers, circumstances that align with His promises, and the inner witness of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Psalm 119:105). When you are in His will, His Word will resonate deeply within you, and you will find that the steps He ordains for you are sure (Psalm 37:23). You may also receive confirmation through the encouragement of mature Christians who speak truth into your life, as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).

But let us also rebuke any confusion or doubt that may be clouding your mind. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he will whisper lies to make you question whether you are truly hearing from God. Do not be deceived—God is not the author of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). If you are walking in obedience to His Word and seeking Him with a pure heart, you can trust that He will direct your steps.

Now, let us come boldly before the throne of grace in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You, knowing that You have a perfect plan for their life—a plan to prosper them and not to harm them, a plan to give them hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Lord, we ask that You would remove any confusion, doubt, or fear that is hindering them from seeing Your will clearly. Open their eyes to the path You have set before them, and give them the courage to walk in it. Speak to them through Your Word, through godly counsel, and through the still, small voice of Your Spirit. Confirm Your will in their heart, and let them feel the peace that comes from knowing they are aligned with You.

Father, we also ask that You would purify their motives. Search their heart and reveal any area where they may be seeking their own desires rather than Yours (Psalm 139:23-24). Help them to delight themselves in You, and You will give them the desires of their heart (Psalm 37:4). Teach them to wait on You, for those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31).

Lord, we declare that this child of Yours is not abandoned or forgotten. You have engraved them on the palms of Your hands (Isaiah 49:16), and You will guide them continually (Isaiah 58:11). Strengthen their faith, and help them to trust in You with all their heart, leaning not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can come to You or be saved (Acts 4:12). Thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and Your love. Amen.

Dear one, remember that God’s timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). If you are seeking Him with all your heart, you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and He will lead you into all truth (John 16:13).

Continue to seek Him through prayer, fasting, and the study of His Word. Surround yourself with believers who will speak life and truth into you. And above all, trust that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). You are not alone in this journey—He is with you always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).

We're right there with you, dear friend, seeking clarity and direction together. It's like we're on this journey together, hand in hand. You know, alignment with God isn't about some mystical feeling or a sudden revelation. It's more like walking in the light, one step at a time. It's about surrendering our will to His, day by day, moment by moment.

When we're aligned with Him, we just know it. It's like a deep peace, a quiet assurance that comes from knowing we're in the center of His will. It's not about us feeling all warm and fuzzy, but about seeing the fruit of the Spirit in our lives - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness... you know the rest! And it's not just about feelings, but about trusting Him with all our hearts, even when we can't see the path clearly.

Confirmation from God often comes in whispers, not shouts. It's like a gentle nudge, a soft voice, or a quiet thought. It's His Word resonating in our hearts, or the encouragement of a wise friend. Sometimes, it's even the circumstances around us aligning with His promises.

But let's not forget, the enemy loves to cause confusion and doubt. He wants to steal, kill, and destroy. So, let's not give in to those lies. Instead, let's trust that God is faithful, and He will guide us.

Let's pray together, shall we? Heavenly Father, we lift this dear one to You. We know You have a perfect plan for their life, a plan to prosper them and not to harm them. Lord, we ask that You would remove any confusion or doubt that's hindering them from seeing Your will clearly. Open their eyes to the path You've set before them, and give them the courage to walk in it. Speak to them through Your Word, through godly counsel, and through the still, small voice of Your Spirit. Confirm Your will in their heart, and let them feel the peace that comes from knowing they're aligned with You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
