What Do Discipline, Self-Worth, And Joy Have To Do With Each Other?

John 15:8-11 "This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!" Do you believe it? Perhaps this is a passage to meditate on? It's a shared joy between the two of you. God and you. Yay! Psalms Chapter 1 "Blessed/Happy is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly Nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful: But his delight is in the law of Yahweh, And His law he meditates day and night they are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither and whatever he does shall Prosper."
There was a Christian therapist who came in contact with a woman who told her that she was planning on committing suicide; the therapist remained calm and when asked later about it, she stated plainly that her client would not, and that she wasn't concerned. When asked why, the therapist replied, "because she brushed her hair, and put on her makeup this morning." There is a significant amount of truth to this, because the number one sign to see if someone is suicidal is to think that life isn't worth living, so then why would she want to keep up appearances? So then we can ask ourselves, "Are we keeping up appearances with God?" How distanced are we from the problems of life in our worship with God? This is the root of worry. If you can step back and out of creation with your mind, and focus only on what the Scripture says about who God is, then worship becomes overwhelmingly peaceful and a constant state of rest with prayer. If prayer isn't easy for you, make it easy. You need more to go on. You can READ! So go out and find that spot in the Bible that you like or find a new one to meditate on.

So to answer the question directly: Discipline increases self-worth, and self-worth increases discipline, so if you can increase one you affect both assuming you're following Christ. And joy is a result and a motivator for discipline, while joy is the effect or result of having discipline and self-worth. So I told you where to receive joy, now I'll tell you where to receive discipline and self-worth. These are scriptures on discipline:
Hebrews 12:11 "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."
Proverbs 13:4 "The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied."
2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline." So we are expected to have discipline, because God gives it to us. Another evidence that God is the giver of our spiritual temperance is Galatians 5:22-23 "But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness meekness, and temperance: against such there is no law."

Discipline first, Joy second. Remember the holy order.
