"what Can I Do For You?"

"WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?"

What can God do for you today? Your answer might have been formed before you even finished reading that sentence: "Bring my spouse home." If you were in the presence of our Lord God and He asked that question, would you really first ask for the physical return of your mate? God wants to do so much more for you:
A) God wants to hold you - Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. Psalm 73:23

B) God wants to help you - "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

C) God wants to hear you - "Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will hear." Isaiah 65:24

D) God wants to heal you - He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3

Yes, we have a God who holds, who helps, who hears, and who heals if only we trust Him to do what He has promised. The four scriptures given above are all located within a few pages of each other. We have been given a Bible that's filled with promises of what God wants to do for you.

I must confess that if my favorite Bible teacher were not in the same home as me, but had left our marriage, my response to "What can I do for you today?" would be to bring my wife home. I pray that starting today you and I might come to better understand how much more our loving Lord wants to do for us. Yes indeed, that includes bringing prodigals home, but that is only one step of you and every member of your family becoming all that God wants you to be.

Thursday morning as I was working on this message for you, Christian music was playing in the background on my computer. One particular song grabbed my attention. Titled, "I’ve Come Too Far To Look Back," the words told of a person who has come so far with Jesus that there is no stopping.

I thought about an airport with planes taking off. At some point on the runway, there is no opportunity for a pilot to stop from taking off. Charlyne and I pray that you have reached the point in your stand for marriage restoration that there is no turning back or quitting. If you are dabbling with standing, it might be like an airplane that taxies around the airport but never quite makes it to the runway. With Jesus as the pilot, and you as the co-pilot, you are cleared for take-off toward the destination of a restored marriage. Once you do, soon you will be singing, "I’ve Come Too Far To Look Back."

He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Selah Psalm 62:6-8

Dear Lord, You know that I was forced out of my last job for speaking up against injustices done to me. Most of the people who were ### and such turned against me and joined in on the mobbing. I really have no one to turn to at this time. I’ve shared my story with others but they can’t...
