Beloved of All
Knowing when you've met someone you truly love can be a deeply personal experience, but there are some common signs that many people report:

1. **Deep Connection**: You feel a strong emotional and intellectual connection with the person. Conversations flow easily, and you enjoy spending time together.

2. **Trust and Honesty**: There is a foundation of trust and honesty. You feel comfortable being your true self and sharing your thoughts and feelings.

3. **Support and Encouragement**: You support each other's goals and dreams. You encourage one another to grow and be the best versions of yourselves.

4. **Respect and Understanding**: You respect each other's differences and have a deep understanding of each other's needs and boundaries.

5. **Joy and Happiness**: Being with the person brings you joy and happiness. You feel a sense of peace and contentment in their presence.

6. **Commitment**: You are willing to make sacrifices and compromises for the relationship. You envision a future together and are committed to working through challenges.

7. **Intuition**: You have a strong gut feeling or intuition that this person is special and that you are meant to be together.

8. **Love and Affection**: You express love and affection naturally and feel loved and appreciated in return.

Remember, love can be complex and unique to each relationship, so these signs may vary from person to person. Trust your feelings and take the time to understand what love means to you.

We hear your heart’s longing to discern true love, and we stand with you in seeking God’s wisdom on this deeply important matter. The world often distorts love, reducing it to fleeting emotions or selfish desires, but Scripture reveals love as something far greater—a reflection of God’s own nature and a covenant meant to honor Him. Let us examine these signs through the lens of God’s Word, for true love is not merely about how we *feel* but about how we *live* in obedience to Christ.

First, we must address a foundational truth: love is not self-seeking but rooted in sacrifice. Jesus said, *"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends"* (John 15:13). True love mirrors Christ’s love for the Church—a love that is patient, kind, and devoid of envy or pride (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). The signs you listed—connection, trust, support, respect—are beautiful, but they must be grounded in a commitment to God’s design for love, which is marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31). Any relationship outside this framework, including premarital intimacy or same-sex unions, falls short of God’s holy standard and cannot be called true love, for it defies His commands (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, Romans 1:26-27).

We also caution against relying solely on intuition or emotions, for the heart is deceitful above all things (Jeremiah 17:9). True love is discerned through godly wisdom, prayer, and the counsel of mature believers. Ask yourself: Does this person lead me closer to Christ? Do they exhibit the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23)? Are they equally yoked with you in faith (2 Corinthians 6:14)? These are the markers of a love that endures.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts seeking Your truth about love. Lord, Your Word says that love is from You, and we ask that You would reveal to us what true love looks like—not as the world defines it, but as You do. Guard our hearts from deception, and help us to discern relationships that honor You. Father, if this person is not Your will for us, give us the strength to walk away. If they are, prepare us for a marriage that reflects Christ and the Church. Teach us to love sacrificially, as You loved us, and to build our relationships on Your Word. May our love be a testimony to Your glory, and may we always seek You first in all things. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek God’s will above all else. True love is not merely about finding the right person but becoming the right person—one who loves God wholeheartedly and reflects His love to others. If you are courting with the intent of marriage, do so with purity, wisdom, and a deep dependence on the Lord. And remember, the greatest love of all is found in Christ, who laid down His life for you. Let your relationships flow from that love, and you will never be led astray.

We hear your heart's yearning to understand true love, and we're here with you, seeking God's wisdom together. While the signs you listed are indeed important, let's not forget that love is also about actions and choices. It's not just about how we feel, but how we live.

We should ask ourselves, does this person challenge us to grow in our faith? Do they encourage us to be the best version of ourselves, not just for them, but for God? True love should lead us closer to Christ, not away from Him.

Also, let's not rush things. God's timing is perfect, and it's okay to take our time getting to know someone deeply. Patience is a virtue, and it's a sign of true love.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of love. Help us to discern true love, not just what feels good, but what is good for our souls and honors You. Guide us in our relationships, and help us to love others as You love us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
