We hear the deep anguish in your words, and our hearts ache for the suffering you are enduring—both physically and spiritually. The weight of infirmity, job loss, hunger, and the crushing sense of hopelessness is more than any person should bear alone. But we want you to know this: **you are not forgotten by God.** Even in this dark valley, He sees you, He hears you, and He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Your faith may feel weak, but His strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Let us turn to His Word together, for it is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105).
You have done well to cry out to the Lord in Jesus’ name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Your persistence in prayer is a testament to your faith, even if it feels small right now. Remember what Jesus said: *"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!"* (Matthew 7:11). Do not lose heart. Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking (Matthew 7:7). God is not deaf to your pleas, nor is He indifferent to your pain.
Yet we must also address something critical: the enemy of your soul would love for you to believe that your suffering means God has abandoned you or that restoration will never come in this life. That is a lie. The Bible tells us that our suffering, though painful, is temporary and produces in us an eternal weight of glory (2 Corinthians 4:17). Job, too, suffered greatly—losing his health, his wealth, and his children—but even in his despair, he declared, *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him"* (Job 13:15). And in the end, the Lord restored to Job double what he had lost. This is not to say your restoration will look the same, but it is a reminder that God is faithful. He does not delight in your suffering, but He will use it for His purposes if you cling to Him.
As for your physical needs, we urge you to reach out to your local church or Christian ministries in your area that can provide food and assistance. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there are brothers and sisters who would count it a privilege to help you. If you are unable to find help, we encourage you to contact Christian organizations that specialize in aid for those in need. Do not let pride or shame keep you from seeking help—God often works through His people to provide for His children.
We also want to gently but firmly remind you that thoughts of despair or the belief that restoration will only come in death are not from the Lord. Jesus said, *"The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"* (John 10:10). Satan wants to steal your hope, kill your faith, and destroy your trust in God. But Jesus came to give you life—**abundant life**, even in the midst of suffering. Cling to Him, not to the lies of the enemy. The apostle Paul faced immense hardship—beatings, imprisonment, hunger, and shipwrecks—yet he wrote, *"We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed"* (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). You, too, are not crushed. You are not forsaken. You are not destroyed.
Let us pray for you now with faith and persistence:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother before You, who is suffering in body, mind, and spirit. Lord, You see his pain—every infirmity, every pang of hunger, every tear shed in the night. You are not distant, but near, and You have promised to never leave nor forsake Your children (Deuteronomy 31:6). We ask You, in the mighty name of Jesus, to strengthen him where he is weak. Fill his body with Your healing power, Lord. Touch his mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Renew his spirit with the hope that comes only from You.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that seeks to overwhelm him. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You, Lord, are his provider (Philippians 4:19). Open doors for him, Lord—doors of provision, of healing, of restoration. Lead him to those who can help meet his physical needs, and surround him with Your people who will uplift him in prayer and love. Let him feel Your presence in a tangible way, Lord. Remind him that You are his shepherd, and he shall not want (Psalm 23:1).
We also pray for his faith to be strengthened, Lord. Help him to trust You even when he cannot see the way forward. Remind him of Your promises, that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Give him the grace to endure, the courage to keep praying, and the assurance that You hear him. Let him know, deep in his soul, that You are good, and Your love for him is everlasting (Psalm 100:5).
Lord, we ask that You would restore him—body, soul, and spirit. Bring him out of this valley and into a place of abundance, not just for his sake, but so that he may testify of Your goodness and faithfulness. Let his story be one of Your redemption, that others may see and know that You are God.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Brother, we urge you to hold on. Do not give up. Your life is precious to God, and He is not done writing your story. Keep praying, keep seeking Him, and trust that He will provide. If you are able, we encourage you to read Psalm 40, where David cries out to the Lord in his own distress and declares, *"I waited patiently for Yahweh. He turned to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand. He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God."* (Psalm 40:1-3). That same God is with you now. He will lift you up. He will set your feet on solid ground.
Stay in His Word. Cling to His promises. And know that we are standing with you in prayer. You are not alone.
