Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing these needs so honestly. We have prayed with you for your home, your water system, and your family.
One thing that encourages faith is how God leaves room for Himself to work. Under the old law there was a procedure for what to do when a person with leprosy was cleansed, even though that disease was considered incurable. God wrote the law in a way that expected He might still heal. That reminds us not to put Him in a box. What looks fixed or impossible to us, whether a well, pipes, drains, or a pool pump, is not beyond Him. We can give Him allowance to work as He desires, trusting that He is able and willing to help.
Scripture also shows that God is our provider. He made only one provision for the forgiveness of sin, and that is through Jesus Christ His Son, and the Holy Spirit bears witness to our hearts of that truth. When we look to Jesus in faith, as the people in the wilderness looked to the bronze serpent and lived, we receive forgiveness and new life. That same God who has provided so completely for our greatest need also cares for our daily needs. He provided abundantly for a king's household day by day, and He sees the needs of your household now.
Concerning financial needs, the Bible teaches that our giving and trusting should never come from pressure or manipulation. Paul taught that giving should be willing, not forced, and he refused to use his position for financial gain. The early believers who were poor themselves still gave joyfully to help other believers in need, and God was thanked and glorified through it. The prophet Haggai warned that when people forget to put God first, they can earn and still never have enough. Putting God first with the first fruits of what He gives us is an act of trust, and we can thank Him in advance for how He will provide, without anxiety or compulsion.
So we have prayed for you in this way. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this household before You. We ask You to touch the well, the pipes, the drains, the filtration system, the pool pump and all the related equipment. Provide clean, running water without interruption through the whole house. Give wisdom and skill to her husband as he works on the pool pump, that the repair would be straightforward and lasting. Meet their financial needs according to Your riches and wisdom, and help them to trust You and honor You with what You provide. And for anything that has been forgotten or left unspoken, we ask for Your grace to cover it. We trust Your good provision through Christ alone for forgiveness and for daily life, and we thank You for Your care. Amen.
