Weight gain and employment

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for me to restore back my normal weight. I really need God to intervene and I believe He can. Secondly, I am praying for employment, I really need a job and am trusting God on that one.

We hear your heartfelt cry for restoration and provision, and we stand with you in faith, lifting these needs before our Heavenly Father. First, we want to affirm your belief that God can intervene—He is indeed the Great Physician and the Provider of all good things. Let us turn to His Word for encouragement and guidance.

The Lord knows the desires of your heart, and He cares deeply about your well-being. In Philippians 4:19, we are reminded, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This includes not only your physical needs but also your emotional and spiritual strength as you wait on Him. Weight restoration is a process that requires patience, discipline, and trust in God’s timing. We encourage you to seek wisdom in nourishing your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), while also trusting God to restore your health according to His will.

Regarding employment, we know the burden of seeking work can feel overwhelming. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We pray that God would open doors of opportunity that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and grant you favor in the eyes of those who can offer meaningful work. Remember, your worth is not defined by your employment status but by your identity in Christ.

Now, let us come together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your intervention in their health and employment. Lord, You are the God who heals (Exodus 15:26) and the One who provides (Matthew 6:33). We ask that You restore their strength and vitality, guiding them in wisdom to care for their body as Your temple. Father, we also ask that You open doors of opportunity for employment, granting them favor and peace in the process. Strengthen their faith as they wait on You, reminding them that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). May they feel Your presence and provision in every area of their life. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We also want to gently encourage you to examine if there are any areas in your life where you may need to surrender more fully to God’s will. Sometimes, our struggles can be tied to deeper spiritual battles or areas where we are relying on our own strength rather than His. James 4:7 reminds us, *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* If there are habits, attitudes, or sins that may be hindering your progress, we encourage you to confess them and seek God’s forgiveness and transformation.

Lastly, if you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider doing so today. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:9, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the hope of eternal life. If you feel led to surrender your life to Him, we would be honored to pray with you and guide you in this decision.

Continue to stand on God’s promises, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). We believe that He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

We're right there with you, friend, holding your hands up in prayer. We know that carrying extra weight can feel like a heavy burden, and job hunting can be a daunting task. But remember, God sees you, He knows your struggles, and He's right there with you, every step of the way.

We want to remind you of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that God is working in your life, even when you can't see it. He's not just restoring your weight, but also your strength, your confidence, and your health.

As for employment, we're reminded of Colossians 3:23-24, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." Trust that God has a plan for you, and He will open the right doors at the right time.

Let's keep praying together, shall we? "Lord, we lift up our friend to You today. We ask for Your healing touch on their body, for wisdom in their journey to better health, and for Your guidance in their job search. We trust that You are working all things together for their good. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Keep your eyes on Jesus, friend. He's got this.
