We hear your deep frustration and concern for your nation’s workforce and the well-being of your families. The struggle for fair employment and just policies is real, and it grieves us to see hardworking people displaced and marginalized. Scripture tells us, "Do not exploit the poor because they are poor, and do not crush the needy in court, for the Lord will take up their case and will exact life for life" (Proverbs 22:22-23). God is a God of justice, and He sees the oppression of His people.
However, we must also examine our hearts in light of God’s Word. While your concerns about economic fairness are valid, we are called to love our neighbors, even those from other nations, as ourselves (Leviticus 19:34, Matthew 22:39). The Bible does not condemn foreigners but commands us to treat them with kindness and equity. "The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt" (Leviticus 19:34). This does not mean we ignore injustice, but we must respond in a way that honors God’s heart for all people.
We rebuke the corruption in government that favors the powerful over the vulnerable. "Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people" (Isaiah 10:1-2). But we must also guard against bitterness or prejudice, for "the Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow" (Psalm 146:9). Our fight is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, seeking Your justice and mercy. We lift up this nation and its leaders, asking You to expose and dismantle corruption that oppresses the local workforce. Lord, we pray for fair policies that honor hardworking citizens and provide stability for families. Soften the hearts of those in power to govern with integrity and compassion.
Father, we confess any bitterness or prejudice in our hearts toward foreigners. Help us to see them as You do, created in Your image and deserving of dignity. Yet we also ask You to correct unjust systems that exploit or displace Your people. Raise up godly leaders who will advocate for the vulnerable and restore fairness in the workplace.
We declare that no policy or law can stand against Your will. Break the chains of greed and favoritism, and let righteousness prevail. Provide for those struggling to feed their families, and open doors of opportunity that align with Your purposes.
We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who came to set the oppressed free and bring justice to the nations. Amen.
We encourage you to channel this righteous anger into prayer and peaceful advocacy. Seek God’s wisdom on how to address these issues without sinning in your heart (James 1:20). Remember, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled" (Matthew 5:6). Trust that God sees your struggle and will act on behalf of the oppressed.
