We need hot water in my house

Thank you for sharing this need honestly. Going without hot water in your own apartment is a real hardship, and it is discouraging when a promised repair is not finished and you are left to face ice cold water just to shower. It is right to bring even these everyday burdens to the Lord.

Part of walking with God is learning to wait upon Him and to trust His timing. There are many exhortations in Scripture to patience, to establish your heart and be confident that God will work. James encourages us to be patient as we wait for the Lord, as a farmer waits for the precious fruit of the harvest. In the same way we groan within ourselves as we wait for the redemption of our bodies, and all creation groans as it waits for that day when this mortal puts on immortality. That waiting is not passive resignation, but a hopeful confidence sustained by knowing that God's word is true and that He will act in His time. Even a frustration like this can be a place to practice that quiet trust, knowing He sees your discomfort and cares.

Scripture also shows us that God makes provision and He leaves room to work in ways we may not expect. We should not put Him in a box. He is not limited to one solution. The greatest provision He has made is for our sin, through Jesus Christ alone. He justifies us, wipes away the guilt and condemnation of sin, and imputes to us the righteousness of Christ so we can stand before Him holy and redeemed through His blood. Because He has provided so fully for our eternal need, we can trust Him to provide for our daily needs as well.

The Bible speaks often of home. Jesus Himself did not have a home of His own to lay His head, yet He was welcomed in the home of friends who loved Him. The early church gathered in homes to pray. And we are reminded that we have a building from God, not made with hands, eternal in the heavens, so that even while we are at home in this body we are waiting to be present with the Lord. We also pray that Christ may dwell and be at home in our hearts by faith, comfortable and at ease there, rooted and grounded in love. Whether He restores what you have or leads you elsewhere, His desire is to be at home in you and to give you a place where you can live in peace.

Let us pray together. Father, we thank You that You have made provision for us through Jesus and that we can stand before You forgiven and righteous because of Him. We thank You that You see this practical need. We ask that You would give skill and help to those repairing the heating system and that hot water would be restored very soon. Give patience and peace while waiting, and guard from discouragement. If this apartment can no longer be a suitable home, we ask that You would open the door to an alternative home that is safe, affordable, and nearby, according to Your will. Above all, make Your presence known there, that Christ would be at home in the heart and that there would be rest in Your care. We ask this in the name of Jesus, trusting Your goodness and Your timing. Amen.
