We need hot water in my house

My apartment building has no hot water because they're repairing the heating system. They promised it would be fixed on Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water…

Please pray for a mighty solution … if I have to move, please pray that God provides an alternative home

We have heard your request and we join together with you in bringing this practical and pressing need before our Father in heaven. Living without hot water, especially when you were given a promise that it would be restored and it was not, is discouraging and uncomfortable, and we understand how difficult it is to face ice cold water just to shower. We want you to know that God cares about even these daily details of our lives and He invites us to bring every concern to Him.

We are reminded of what scripture tells us about His care for our needs. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19 and Cast your burden on Yahweh and he will sustain you. Psalm 55:22 and Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7. He knows you need hot water, shelter, and peace in your home, and He is able to provide a mighty solution. We also take comfort that in all things God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28, even when repairs are delayed and plans are disrupted.

We noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We gently want to share why we always pray in His name, because it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is in His name that we can boldly bring your need for hot water and housing before the throne of grace.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You together and lift up this need for hot water and for a stable home. Lord, You see the apartment building and the unfinished repair to the heating system. We ask that You would guide the hands and work of those doing the repairs, that what has been delayed would be completed quickly and properly, and that hot water would be restored by tomorrow as hoped. Provide wisdom and diligence to the workers and favor with the building management. Lord, we ask that You would give peace and patience while waiting, and keep our friend in good health despite the cold. If it is Your will that a move is needed, we ask that You would open the right door and provide an alternative home that is safe, affordable, and a place of rest, for we know You are our provider and our refuge. Help us to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be given to us as well. Matt 6:33. Let Your will be done and let Your comfort be felt in this home. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord in this waiting time, to make your requests known to Him with thanksgiving, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7. Speak graciously with those responsible for the building, be patient as the Lord works, and consider practical steps the Lord may provide for these few days, such as gently heating water if possible or seeking help from nearby believers if needed, while you wait on His provision. We are praying with you for a swift restoration and for God's perfect provision, whether that is hot water restored tomorrow or a new home provided in His timing.

Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. We understand how hard it is to live without hot water, especially when you were counting on Tuesday and it still is not done. Showering in ice cold water and not knowing when it will be back wears on you quickly, and it makes sense you are asking God for a quick, real solution.

We are praying with you that the repairs would be finished soon, ideally by tomorrow as you hoped, and that you would have clear information from the building managers. It may help to ask for a written update on the timeline tomorrow morning and whether they can offer any temporary help while you wait, and to check with a neighbor so you are not carrying the follow up alone. If you do start to think about moving, we pray God gives you wisdom and open doors for a suitable, affordable place without rushing a decision under pressure.

We care about this daily burden and we are bringing it to the Lord with you.

Father, we bring this need to You and ask for hot water to be restored quickly and safely, for favor with those doing the repairs, and for peace and provision as our friend waits. Guide any decisions about staying or finding another home, and provide what is needed each day. In Jesus name, amen.

Your trial, though it may seem a small thing to some, is known to your Father in heaven who cares for all the checkered things of this life, and we have brought your need before Him with earnest prayer.

It is a weary thing to wait when a promise has been broken and the comfort you looked for on Tuesday has not come, and to face the cold water morning by morning. Yet this is a season to learn what it is to wait only upon God. The repairers and the managers are but the arm of flesh, changeable and often failing, but blessed are all they that wait for Him. He is a waiting God, waiting to be gracious, and His patience toward His people is singular and sure. When we wait upon Him we receive a mysterious strength, and our heart is sustained because we look not to the creature but to the Creator who directs all things.

Remember that where God begins a work He does not ask us to finish it, He always completes His own work, and the love of God shines best in the patience of Christ. He would have you in this discomfort to say with the Psalmist, My soul, wait thou only upon God, and to find that though clouds may surround you, your God is your light, and though storms rage around you, your God is your might.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Thou seest Thy child in this cold and uncomfortable dwelling, and Thou knowest the need of daily bread and daily comfort. We ask Thee to move upon those who labor upon the heating system, that Thou wouldst give skill to their hands and speed to their work, and that hot water may be restored by tomorrow according to Thy mercy. Let not Thy child be left to suffer needlessly, but in Thy gracious providence provide that which is needed for health and cleanliness.

And if it be Thy will that this dwelling should no longer be a home, we pray for a mighty solution. Direct Thy child as a traveler waits for his guide, open a door to another home which shall be safe and peaceful and within provision, and make Thy will plain. Keep this soul from anxious care, teach patience in waiting for Thy time, and shed abroad Thy love in the heart by the Holy Spirit. Grant present peace and the hope of Thy glory, and let this light tribulation work patience and experience and hope which maketh not ashamed.

We ask all this, trusting not in our own merit but in the blood of Jesus Christ alone, through whom Thou art waiting to be gracious to all who come unto Thee. Amen.
