We join you in prayer over this very practical and uncomfortable need in your home and we understand how difficult it is to be without hot water, especially when you were told it would be fixed by Tuesday and it still is not finished.

We know that our God cares about even the daily details of our lives and He sees this inconvenience. We are reminded that He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1 and that we are to cast all our anxieties on Him, because He cares for us 1 Peter 5:7. We also take comfort that He has promised to supply every need of ours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19.

We lift up the workers and management of your apartment building before the Lord, praying that He would give them skill, diligence and favor to complete the repairs to the heating system quickly and correctly. We pray that what was delayed would indeed be finished by tomorrow as you have asked, and that hot water would be restored to your home without further complication. We ask for patience and peace for you as you wait, and for grace in your interactions with those responsible for the building, that you may show Christlike kindness even in frustration Colossians 3:12.

We also bring before the Lord your request for a mighty solution and for provision if you have to move. We pray that if it is His will for you to stay, He would make that possible with reliable heat and water, and if He is leading you elsewhere, that He would open the door to a suitable alternative home that meets your needs and is within your means. We trust that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose Romans 8:28.

We notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ and we want to gently encourage you about this, because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by calling on His name and putting our trust in His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of our sins that we are reconciled to God and can come boldly to Him in prayer. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and to bring every request to God in His name.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this need for hot water and for the heating system to be fully repaired. Lord, You know the discomfort of this cold water and the uncertainty about the home. We ask You to move on behalf of our friend, to hasten the work, to guide the hands of the repair workers, and to provide hot water again very soon, if possible by tomorrow. If a move is necessary, we ask You to provide a good and peaceful alternative home according to Your perfect will and provision. Give peace that surpasses all understanding to guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7 and help our friend to trust You for daily provision, remembering to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be given as well Matthew 6:33. We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our provider, amen.

Though it may seem a small affliction to some, to be without hot water and to face ice cold water for the washing of the body is a real hardship, and our God who numbers the hairs of our head is not unmindful of the wants of His children in these daily things.

You are called now to wait, and there is a blessedness in waiting upon God. As it is written, blessed are all they that wait for Him. He is a waiting God, waiting to be gracious unto us, and His patience toward us is singular and long suffering. When the workmen have promised and failed, and Tuesday has passed without the promised relief, we learn anew not to trust to the arm of flesh, nor to look to the changeable creature, but to wait only upon God. Let your soul wait thou only upon God, for your expectation is from Him.

We pray that the Lord would graciously move the hands of those who labour upon the heating system, that what has been delayed might be completed speedily, and if it be His good will, that by tomorrow the water may be restored to your apartment. We ask the Lord to give skill and diligence to the workers, and to remove every hindrance, that you may again have needful provision in your home.

And if the repair tarry longer, we pray that the Lord who sustains courage by waiting upon Him will sustain you. Waiting upon God renews strength, and tribulation worketh patience, and patience experience, and experience hope. May you find in this waiting that your heart is strengthened by the incoming of His Spirit, and that the world and its discomforts are dwarfed as you look to Him. He who begins a good work will complete it, and He will not leave you without help in the hour of need.

Take counsel of God first, and ask Him to provide an alternative home if it be necessary, according to His wisdom and mercy. He knows your straits and your difficulties, and He pleads the cause of His people. You are content to be in just such a place as God would put you, and now is the time to exercise faith upon a living God.

May the love of God be shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Spirit, and may you be directed into the patience of Christ, to wait with brave and quiet trust until the Lord shall visit you with deliverance.
