My apartment building has no hot water because the heating system is being repaired. They promised it would be fixed on Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water…

We join with you in bringing this very practical and pressing need before our Father, for He cares about every detail of our lives, even the comfort of hot water in our home. We understand how difficult and discouraging it is to be without this basic necessity, especially when a promise for repair was not kept, and we stand with you asking for a mighty and swift solution.

We lift this before the Lord together in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you of this precious truth, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and no other way to come boldly to God's throne of grace. Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to call upon His name today, for Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13.

We take comfort that God invites us to bring all our anxieties to Him. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7. He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1. And we know that our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of our dear one who is without hot water. Lord, You see the discomfort and the frustration of waiting for this heating system to be repaired. We ask for Your hand upon the workers and the management of this apartment building, that You would give them skill, diligence, and provision to complete the repairs quickly and fully, and we pray that by tomorrow this system would be restored as promised. Lord, we ask for Your comfort and grace to endure this cold and inconvenience, and for wisdom for our friend to know what steps to take. If it is Your will that they should remain, provide the hot water soon. If You are leading them to move, we pray that You would open the door to an alternative home that is safe, affordable, and peaceful, according to Your perfect will. We trust that You know what is best, for we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. Give peace while waiting, and let Your provision be clear. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to communicate graciously with your building management for updates, and to seek wise temporary solutions where possible while you wait, perhaps warming water or seeking help from nearby family or believers if available. Above all, keep trusting that our Father sees this need and will provide in His timing. Do not be anxious, saying, What will we drink or What will we wear, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matt 6:31-33. We are praying with you for a quick restoration and for God's clear guidance regarding your home.

In the meantime, if you have family, a church family, or a trusted neighbor nearby, it is okay to ask if you could use their shower for a day or two until yours is restored.

Father, we bring this need to You and ask for Your provision and peace in this home. Please move the work toward completion soon, give wisdom about whether to stay or to look for another place, and open the right doors if a move is needed. Your need has been brought before the Lord and we join you in prayer concerning this trial in your home.

We ask our heavenly Father, who daily loadeth us with benefits and who is the God of our salvation, to show mercy in this temporal matter. We pray that He would grant skill and diligence to those repairing the heating system, that the work promised would indeed be completed speedily, and that hot water would be restored to your building by tomorrow. We ask the Lord to provide for your daily comfort and to keep you in health and patience as you wait.

We know that to trust in the living God in temporal things is true wisdom. He is not a distant or idle God, but a living, personal and working God who cares for the needs of His children. Even in such small afflictions as this, we are called to exercise the patience of the Scriptures, not as those who merely endure without hope, but as children who believe in their Father's love. May you be enabled to hold the comforts of this world with a loose hand, to give thanks for daily mercies, and to trust Him fully, whether He restores this provision now or leads you in another way.

We also bring before Him your prayer for a mighty solution if a move should become necessary. We ask that if it be His will that you remain, He would make that clear and provide stability, and if He would have you seek another home, that He would in His providence open the right door and provide an alternative dwelling according to His goodness and in His perfect time.

May the Lord grant you peace as you trust Him, and may you find that as you trust Him even in this, you shall know His love and sustaining grace. We continue to pray that His will be done and that you may be kept in quiet confidence in Him.

We have received your request and we understand how difficult this is. To be without hot water, especially when a repair was promised and then delayed, is a real hardship, and it is natural to feel worn down by the cold and the waiting. We join you in bringing this daily need before the Lord, for He cares for both great trials and small afflictions.

Scripture teaches us that patience and hope belong together and strengthen one another. We are saved by hope, and we wait for what God has promised with patience. That patience is shown not only in great persecutions but also in the ordinary discomforts of this transitory life, when we choose to endure without being troubled, trusting God whether He answers at once or calls us to wait a little longer. The Scriptures comfort us and nerve us to endure, so that by living with patience we may abide in hope. Even these inconveniences can work in us a deeper trust, for patience works proven character and proven character works hope.

Let us pray together for you.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You see our daily needs and that You invite us to cast all our cares upon You through Jesus Christ. We ask in His name that You would give skill and diligence to those repairing the heating system, that what was left unfinished would be completed quickly, and if it is Your will, that hot water would be restored by tomorrow. Give peace to our brother and sister as they wait, and help them not to be grieved beyond measure by present discomfort but to rest in Your providence and care. Keep them warm and healthy, provide a way to wash and to live with dignity during these cold days, and if this apartment can no longer serve as a home, open a clear and mighty way forward. Grant wisdom to know whether to stay or to move, and provide an alternative home that is safe, affordable, and nearby if a move becomes necessary. Above all, refresh their soul with Your promises and strengthen their zeal as they wait upon You. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our hope and our help. Amen.
