"The best kind of friend is the one you can sit on a porch with, never saying a word, and walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you have ever had." ~Author Unknown

Father, I thank you this day that this place has become like a front porch for me. I thank you for all of the times You have sat beside me on the porch. No words exchanged, but You knew every thought and need of my life. Even when I do not have the will or energy to pray for myself, I know there are others lifting me up. On other days, when they are too weak to battle, I seek You in prayer on their behalf. Thank you for feeling connected to such a faithful group of prayer warriors - a group of people who truly are looking out for one another as You commanded us to do. Through good days and bad, many words or none, we rest securely in the fact the You loved us enough to sacrifice Your own Son for our future - and that You have placed the right people in our lives for this very moment. All praise, thanks and glory to Your holy name. Amen.

P.S. Sometimes I marvel at how God gets into our hearts and minds. My afternoon devotion included this passage from 1 Samuel which just solidified what I spoke of this morning.

Verses 10 & 11

"Now the word of the Lord came to Samuel, saying, “I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.” And it grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the Lord all night."

When King Saul fell into sin, his friend Samuel cried out to God all night - that is the type of friend that we all need, and I believe that IS the type of friends we have through our fellowship here. God bless & keep you always.

You have certainly been that friend to me here KJ, and so many others also. I do thank God for each one of you here, amen.

Thank you k-J those words are lovely. I thank God that he is working in you to inspire you to bring God's lovely words to our attention. It is very true what you say also. I am grateful God led me to find such lovely prayer filled souls and it is lovely. Thank you K-J and God bless your dear soul.

Thank you for the prayer. The image of the rocking chair conversation is powerful.

AMEN AMEN AMEN! You are all so right on and we are so fortunate to be able to use a source like the internet to come together in prayer to YOU Almighty God! Thank you for the blessings of these friends in prayer. Lord we span the world from Arkansas, to England, and we thank you for bringing us all together to pray for each other's needs, praises, blessings, etc.

We praise you for this!

Amen

Yes, thank You Father for this site. Please hear us as we join together, worldwide, in Your name. In Jesus name I exalt thee, amen.

You're so right K-J, last night at church I was at the alter praying and others gathered around me, praying as hard or even harder for me than I was. There is no greater feeling or show of love that you can feel from someone else than when they take your burden so personally. Even though I am sure that they had problems that were pressing in their own lives, they took the time and showed the love of Christ and their fellow man. I thank you for all the prayers that you have sent up for myself and others and though we may never meet here on earth, I look forward to sitting with all of you in our new home meeting old friends for the first time.

Amen, thank you KJ, what a joy to my soul to think of it that way, it is so right. When we feel the Lord surround us, I sometimes feel just content and don't say anything, I bask in his light, amazing how comforting the Lord is, amazing.

Where I am from people believe in some weird stuff, that number 4 has to do with death weirdly because it is pronounced similarly in Chinese. That if you have number 4 attached to you it's a sign of bad luck. But then recently it is becoming a way in which people "politely" curse each other...
