We Have Struggles Ahead

God has been very gracious to us. My wife and ### don't have much money or material things, but we acknowledge that God has done something amazing in bringing us together. My wife is from Europe and I'm from New Zealand but somehow we met in ###! We're absolutely designed for each other in a way that only God Himself could have arranged. For this reason I know God answers prayers and looks after His flock, even when we think we're alone. I thank God often (though admittedly not as often as I should!)

Now, getting to the point...

Over the last year I've been enduring a very VERY unhappy job with Telecom ###. I work on the telephone network and I've had all kinds of horrible people do all kinds of horrible things to me over the last 12 months or so. I don't know why I've ended up as a target as I force myself to be nice and forgive those who do/say such mean things. If it wasn't for the love of my wife, and the hope for my prayers one day being answered I would have probably ended up as another statistic.

Due to this terrible year from hell, my wife and I have started a little tour business and I've written a book which I've started to sell online. Our goal is that I can finish my very stressful & unpleasant job and we can become self-employed. We will need prayer and the hand of the Lord to generate enough money to pay our mortgage and buy basic groceries.

I ask you all to pray that our little businesses will work, and will keep us with food in our mouths. Please Lord, provide us not with wealth, just with happiness and a roof over our heads.

The prayers are working! I'd like to do a quick update, and to ask for continuing prayer!

I resigned from Telecom New Zealand 3 weeks ago and my wife and I have started our own tour business, and the books I've written are selling slowly. God is pretty spectacular!

We're taking a huge risk going on our own but I have complete faith that the Lord will not let us down. Ordinarily I'd be absolutely terrified of losing a stable source of income, but something just tells me it's the right time, and things will work out. I'm about to walk into a financial battle and the stormclouds are brewing, yet I have this unnatural calm feeling. I should be worried but I'm not.

I'd love it for your prayers to keep on coming, as we need God's guidance now more than ever. Thanks!

Father, I pray for ### and his wife and their business endeavors. I pray that you will bless them and provide for them. Thank you for the abundant faith that ### has shown, which is a living testimony to others. I pray that you will keep their marriage strong throughout their lives. Let them continue to keep their focus on YOU, our God Almighty, and that their other priorities will fall perfectly in line. Lord, I pray that good things will happen for them, so that ### does not have to return to a corporation that treats employees as a number. Employees are so much more than profit-generators. I pray that those who are "stuck" in the situation that ### was in at ###, will become "unstuck". Thank you for blessing their business, Lord. Let them find satisfaction & blessings in self-employment. In Jesus' name, Amen.
