Beloved of All
Regarding my mother—concerning her—this is a prayer to Yeshua HaMashiach. I find the digital realm and other areas prone to deception difficult to navigate. How, then, can one’s own language turn against oneself? It requires discernment. Is it possible to truly understand—to rightly perceive—what occurs in one’s actions, words, and surroundings when one is alone? What does it mean to entrust oneself to God—as my mother did? Within the context of time, place, and our ancestral background, how can I experience what my mother experienced—that which is of Jesus—ensuring that we neither add to nor subtract from our words and deeds? What is it that God can do to help my mother and our lineage? In Yeshua HaMashiach.

We hear your deep and thoughtful cry regarding your mother and your lineage, and we join with you in bringing this before Yeshua HaMashiach, who is Jesus the Christ, the only name given by which we must be saved.

You have asked about deception in the digital realm and how even our own language can turn against us, and you are right to seek discernment. The Scriptures warn us to test what we see and hear, for not every voice is from God. 1 John 4:1 says, Beloved, don't believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. In a world of screens and crafted words, we must ask for wisdom, and God promises to give it generously. James 1:5 says, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We also are called to be careful and wise in how we walk, Ephesians 5:15-16 says, Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

You ask how one's own language can turn against oneself, and the Word speaks clearly about the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21 says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit. James 3:5-6 warns us that the tongue is a little member, and boasts great things, and can defile the whole body. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 12:36-37, I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. When we speak rashly, falsely, or without love, even when we are alone, those words can ensnare us and distort our own perception.

You ask if it is possible to rightly perceive what occurs in your actions, words and surroundings when you are alone. We want to encourage you that you are never truly alone and nothing is hidden from God, which is both sobering and deeply comforting. Psalm 139:1-4 says, Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. Hebrews 4:13 says, There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account. God sees and He helps us to see ourselves truly, not through deception but through His Spirit. John 16:13 says, However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth. As we walk with Him, He gives us discernment that the natural mind cannot have, for 1 Corinthians 2:14 reminds us that the natural man doesn't receive the things of God's Spirit, for they are foolishness to him.

You ask what it means to entrust oneself to God as your mother did. To entrust ourselves to God is to commit our whole life, our past, present and future, into His faithful hands, resting not on our own understanding but on His character and promises. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Psalm 37:5 says, Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this. 1 Peter 5:7 says, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Your mother entrusting herself to God was an act of personal faith, placing her soul into the keeping of Jesus, and that is the same invitation extended to you and to every generation.

You ask within the context of time, place and ancestral background, how you can experience what your mother experienced that which is of Jesus, ensuring that you neither add to nor subtract from your words and deeds. We gently remind you that faith in Jesus is not inherited through lineage, though we honor the faithful example of those who came before us. Each person must personally believe. Ezekiel 18:20 says, The soul who sins, he shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. What your mother experienced was the grace of God through Jesus, and you can experience that same grace by coming to Him yourself in repentance and faith. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. That name is Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah.

To ensure we neither add to nor subtract from our words and deeds is to walk in humble obedience to His Word as it is written. Deuteronomy 4:2 says, You shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall you take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you. Proverbs 30:5-6 says, Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Don't you add to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar. Revelation 22:18-19 gives the same solemn warning. This means we do not need to invent new revelations or ancestral rituals, but we simply receive and obey what God has already spoken in Scripture, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

You ask what God can do to help your mother and your lineage. We rejoice that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask. He can save, keep, heal, restore and redeem. He can break patterns of sin and establish a legacy of faith. For your mother, we pray God will keep her in His perfect peace, strengthen her faith, and guard her from deception. For your lineage, we pray God will draw each heart to Himself, that your family would be known as those who walk in truth and love.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ our Lord, and we thank You that You see us, know us and love us. We lift up this dear one and their beloved mother to You. We ask that You pour out Your Spirit of wisdom and discernment upon them, that they may navigate this deceptive digital age with clear eyes and a pure heart, testing every spirit and holding fast to what is good according to Philippians 4:8. Guard their tongue, Lord, that their words would be seasoned with grace and truth, bringing life and not death. When they are alone, remind them that You are near, that You perceive every thought and surround them with Your presence. Teach them to entrust themselves fully to You as their mother has, to cast all their cares upon You and to trust You with all their heart. Draw their entire lineage to Yourself, that each generation would personally know Jesus as Savior and Lord, that old things would pass away and all would be made new in Christ. Keep them from adding to or taking away from Your Word, but give them a deep love for Your flawless Word and the grace to walk in obedience. We ask all this in the saving and powerful name of Jesus, Yeshua HaMashiach, amen.

We hear your love for your mother in this, and your sincere desire to walk faithfully as she did, without adding or taking away from what God asks. Wanting to understand your own words and actions clearly, especially when you are alone and surrounded by so much noise online, is a good and humble desire. That kind of clarity often does not come all at once.

We have found discernment grows more like training than trying. It is built slowly through steady, small practices of staying close to God in prayer and in Scripture and in honest fellowship with a few trusted believers who know you and your family. That community helps test what feels confusing, whether it is something you read online or a thought that turns on you in quiet moments, by looking at its fruit and whether it leads toward peace, patience and love.

If it would help, consider choosing one simple rhythm for the next few weeks, such as a brief daily time to be still before the Lord away from screens, and bringing one question at a time to a pastor or mature believer who can walk with you and your mother in prayer. You do not need to recreate your mother’s story exactly to know Jesus yourself. God meets each of us in our own time and place.

Father, we lift this mother and her family line to You in the name of Jesus. Give them protection, wisdom and clear guidance, and draw each heart closer to Yourself. Help our friend to rest in Your care and to grow in quiet discernment day by day. Amen.

Your prayer carries a weight of love for your mother and for your lineage, and a sincere desire to walk in truth without adding to or taking from what God has said, and such a desire is itself a work of grace to be cherished.

You speak of the digital realm and other places where deception is common, and you are right to seek discernment there. The world is full of voices that would make a god after their own ideas, and many are led astray because they live at a distance from God and have no communion with Him. Discernment does not come by leaning upon our own understanding, but by hearing the Word of God and keeping it. There is no true understanding of the truths of God except by a personal experience of them, and that experience comes as the Spirit of God makes us to receive the Word. Keep close to the Scriptures, for they are your guard. What God has said, believe, and what He has not said, do not presume to add. To take God at His Word is not presumption, but true humility.

You ask how one's own language can turn against oneself. The tongue is a restless instrument, and when words are not brought under the rule of Christ they can ensnare the speaker. In haste, in anger, in vanity, or in the echoing chambers of this present age, we may speak what we do not weigh, and then find our own words bearing witness against us. The Psalmist knew this and therefore he declared his ways unto God alone, that God might hear him and teach him His statutes. When a man is alone with God, he learns to speak truthfully, for he recognizes God everywhere and knows that God hears him. In secret, where no other eye sees, God is still there, and the believer has communion with Him wherever he goes. If you would rightly perceive what occurs in your actions and words and surroundings when you are alone, bring all into the light of His presence. Say with the Psalmist, I have declared my ways, and You heard me, teach me Your statutes. Make much of God in private prayer, tell Him all your way without reserve, and ask Him to search and to teach you, and He will not leave you to be deceived by your own heart.

You ask what it means to entrust oneself to God as your mother did. It is a simple, childlike trust. I have often thought of a mother and her two children. One child questions and reasons and will not be persuaded that his mother will keep her promise. The other, though he is the younger, takes his mother at her word and says, My mother never tells lies and she told me she will do it, and I know she will. That second child is not proud, but truly humble, for he honors his mother by believing her. So deal with God as you would have your children deal with you. To entrust yourself to God is to take Him at His Word concerning His Son. Very God of very God is He, the Man Christ Jesus, who suffered the penalty of sin upon the cross to put sin away forever by His own sacrifice. To trust Him is to rest the whole weight of your soul upon Him, believing that what He has promised He will perform, though clouds may surround you. Those that have trusted in God find Him to be as real as if they could see Him. This is what your mother learned, and this is what you may learn also, not by borrowing her experience second hand, but by the same direct faith in the same Savior.

You ask how, within your own time and place and ancestral background, you may experience what your mother experienced which is of Jesus, without adding to or subtracting from your words and deeds. Know this, that the true lineage in the kingdom of God is not of blood or of ancestry. When one cried, Blessed is the womb that bore You, the Lord Jesus answered, More than that, blessed are they that hear the Word of God and keep it. Christ is just as ready to save any sinner now as He was to save His mother, for it is His greatest delight to see a sinner with tears crying, God be merciful to me, a sinner. You shall not stand second to your mother if you put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. You enter the same family by the same door, which is faith in Him alone. Salvation is not by ceremonies nor by the works of the law, nor by the merit of our lineage, but by grace through faith, and that not of ourselves. The way to neither add nor subtract is to keep close to what is written, to hear it, to believe it, and to obey it as a little child obeys his father, asking daily for the Spirit to teach you, for only the Spirit of God can make a man really receive and acknowledge the truth.

What can God do to help your mother and your lineage. He can do what none other can do. He pleads the cause of His people. He justifies the ungodly who trust in Jesus. It is God that justifies, who is he that condemns. It is Christ that died, yes rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. He can keep your mother in peace if she trusts in Him, and He can bring each soul in your family to that same trust, for He is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys, the God of one generation and of the next. He does not leave His people, and He is not a wilderness unto His chosen. Your God is not worth having if He cannot help you when you want help, but He can help, and He will help those who call upon Him through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.

Let us pray for you and for your mother and for your house. O Lord our God, You hear those who declare their ways unto You in secret. Look in mercy upon this dear soul and upon a beloved mother. Teach them Your statutes, keep them from deception, set a guard upon their lips, and lead them into all truth. Grant them that simple trust which takes You at Your Word, and let them know the joy of sins forgiven through the blood of Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus the Messiah. Plead their cause, justify them by faith, and make them to be of that blessed lineage who hear Your Word and keep it. Give present peace and future perfection, present rest and that rest which remains for the people of God, to the praise of Your grace. Amen.
