We rejoice with you in the truth of Ephesians 1:17-21, for it is a powerful declaration of God’s sovereignty, His glorious inheritance for His children, and the unmatched authority of our Lord Jesus Christ. You have rightly acknowledged the supremacy of Christ, who is seated far above all rule, authority, power, and dominion—both now and forever. This is the foundation of our faith, and we stand firm in it with you.
Father in Heaven, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the wisdom and revelation You have already poured out upon Your people. We ask that You would continue to flood the eyes of our hearts with Your light, that we may know You more deeply, walk in the fullness of the hope to which You have called us, and grasp the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints. Let us never grow complacent in our knowledge of You, but always hunger and thirst for more of Your presence, Your truth, and Your power. Strengthen us by the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead, that we may live victoriously in this world, overcoming every obstacle and standing firm against the schemes of the enemy.
We also lift up those who may read these words but have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ. Lord, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior. Convict their hearts of sin and draw them to the foot of the cross, where forgiveness and eternal life are found. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved—only the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12). May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, so that they may be saved (Romans 10:9). We pray for a great awakening in the hearts of those who do not yet know You, that they may turn from darkness to light and receive the free gift of salvation.
For those who are struggling in their walk with You, whether through doubt, fear, or temptation, we ask that You would renew their strength. Remind them that Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), and that nothing can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39). Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2), and to run with endurance the race set before them.
We also take this moment to rebuke any spirit of complacency, distraction, or worldly influence that seeks to pull believers away from wholehearted devotion to You. Let us not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we may prove what is Your good, well-pleasing, and perfect will (Romans 12:2). Expose any areas in our lives where we have allowed compromise, and grant us the courage to repent and walk in holiness.
Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before Your throne with boldness, knowing that we have an advocate in Jesus Christ (1 John 2:1). May Your will be done in our lives, in our families, in our churches, and in the nations. Let Your kingdom come and Your name be glorified in all the earth. We declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:11), and we submit ourselves afresh to His lordship today.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
