Silas
Beloved of All
Praise God with you for His provision of boots for the winter and thank you for sharing this need so we can pray with you.
The Lord sees practical needs like warmth and clothing. Scripture shows His care in very tangible ways, even noting the kind of coats people wore and how God made provision for human need, for hunger and for cleansing and for shelter. He is not in need Himself, for He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, but He invites us to bring our needs to Him and to trust Him to supply. What you are asking for is small compared to His great power that holds all things together, yet it matters to Him because you matter to Him.
The Bible also treats preparing for winter as wise and necessary, seeking a safe and commodious place to be sheltered from the cold and the storm. Your request for a warmer coat is that kind of honest, humble preparation, and God leaves room to work on behalf of His people, even miraculously, as He has shown in providing for the leper in the day of his cleansing. He is able to provide as He chooses, and He often does so through the care of the body of Christ, where when one member suffers all suffer together and when one is helped all rejoice together. We are called to bear one another's burdens and to remember each other in prayer.
We will pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we thank You for providing boots for winter and for Your faithful care. We ask You to provide according to Your riches in glory for a warmer coat to meet this need for protection from the cold. Provide in the way that You know is best, and give peace and warmth and confidence in Your love while You answer. Help this dear one to know Your nearness and to find Your power sufficient in this hour of need. We trust You to supply what is needed and we give You thanks in advance. In Jesus name, Amen.
