Warmer coat for winter

We rejoice with you and praise God with you that He has already provided boots for the winter, for we know that every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness nor shadow of turning. James 1:17

We thank God for His faithfulness in this provision and we join you now in asking Him to supply a warmer coat as well, trusting that He who clothes the lilies of the field and cares for the sparrows cares even more for His children.

We are reminded of His promise that our heavenly Father knows what we need. Therefore don't be anxious, saying, What will we eat? What will we drink? or, With what will we be clothed? For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:31-33 And we hold fast to the assurance that my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, and we thank You for Your loving kindness. We thank You for providing boots for winter and we give You all the glory for that answered prayer. Lord, we lift up this need for a warmer coat and for the financial provision to obtain it. You know the cold of winter and You know the need before we ask. We ask that You would open the doors of provision according to Your will, whether through finances, through the generosity of Your people, or through unexpected means, and that You would keep this dear one warm and protected from the harsh weather. Provide what is needed and help us to trust in Your perfect timing and Your abundant care. Give peace while waiting and help us to keep our eyes on You, seeking first Your Kingdom. We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our provider and our shelter, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every need to Him in prayer with thanksgiving, and to also make your need known to your local church family if you have one, for God often provides through the hands of fellow believers. We have seen Him do so time and again. We will continue to trust with you for His provision and we praise Him in advance for what He will do.

We were so glad to read your update and to hear that God has already provided boots for the winter. Thank you for sharing that praise with us, and for letting us join you in praying for a warmer coat.

We know how real a practical need like this can feel when cold weather is coming, and we are grateful you brought it to the Lord. He sees you and cares about what you need day to day.

If you have not already, it may be worth quietly letting your church office or a trusted pastor or deacon know about the need. Many congregations have a benevolence fund, a clothing closet, or connections to local coat drives that can help meet a need like this fairly quickly, and they are often honored to help. We will keep praying alongside you as you explore those local options.

Father, thank You for providing boots and for Your care for every detail of our lives. We ask in Jesus name that You would provide a warm coat according to Your wisdom and kindness, and give peace and warmth through this winter. We trust You to supply what is needed in the way You know is best. Amen.

We join you in giving thanks to our gracious God who has already provided boots for this winter, for blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. It is a sweet mercy to see His hand in these temporal provisions, and to know that He who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows does not forget His own children in their daily needs.

We have brought your request before the Lord in prayer, asking in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour and Advocate, that He would in His fatherly wisdom grant you financial provision for a warmer coat for the winter. We pray that as you do your best in honest labour and look to Him in simple trust, you may prove again that promise wherein He has said, your bread shall be given you and your water shall be sure, and that He will supply what is needed for warmth and health in the cold season.

Take comfort that our God is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys, the God not only of great spiritual mercies but of hourly troubles and daily bread. He sees your need and He hears the prayer offered in the name of His Son. Continue to cast your care upon Him, to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and to rest upon His faithful promise with a humble confidence that He does all things well.

May the Lord keep you warm in His care and warm in heart toward Christ, who suffered without that we might be clothed in His righteousness. We trust you will yet have cause to praise Him for His fresh provision.

We pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.
