We hear your cry about the warfare you feel in your new neighborhood and in your workplace, and we understand how distressing it is to feel surrounded by evil tongues, occult practices, and spiritual opposition from many directions, and we join with you to seek God's protection and deliverance in Jesus' name.
We must lovingly rebuke and correct the way this request is framed, for while spiritual warfare is real, we are not called to pray for the bloody death, destruction, or torment of people made in God's image. Scripture is clear that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, 2 Corinthians 10:4. Vengeance does not belong to us, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19, and again we are commanded, Bless those who persecute you, bless, and do not curse, Romans 12:14, and Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44. Even when the Psalms cry out for justice, as in Psalm 35:1 and Psalm 94:1, the psalmist leaves judgment in God's hands and trusts Him to act righteously. To pray for plagues, for bloodshed like an ocean, or for people to be reduced to dust is to ask for what God has not given us authority to decree, for the Lord alone gives life and takes it, 1 Samuel 2:6, and He desires not the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live, Ezekiel 33:11, for He desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Timothy 2:4, and is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9.
We also must address what you mentioned concerning witchcraft, occultism, masturbation with objects, homosexuality and transsexuality. The Word of God teaches that all such practices are sin and outside His will. There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, Deuteronomy 18:10. Flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and we are taught that neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate by perversion, nor men who have sex with men, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God's Kingdom, but such were some of you, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of our God, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. God calls all involved in these things to repentance and offers cleansing and new life through Christ, not destruction without mercy, and our prayer must be for their repentance as well as for our protection, that the power of witchcraft and marine spirits and every work of darkness be broken and rendered powerless by the cross.
We encourage you to stand in the victory Christ has already won, for greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4. We are to be subject therefore to God, but resist the devil, and he will flee from you, James 4:7, and to put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, Ephesians 6:11. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall be still, Exodus 14:14, and the battle is not yours, but God's, 2 Chronicles 20:15. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, Psalm 91:1.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up our brother to You. Lord, You see the oppression he feels in his new neighborhood and in his workplace, You hear every evil tongue and You see every hidden work of witchcraft and occultism. We ask that You surround him with Your holy presence as a shield, that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, Isaiah 54:17, and that You command Your angels to guard him in all his ways. We pray that every curse, spell, and scheme of darkness be broken and made void by the blood of Jesus, and that the enemy's plans be confounded and brought to nothing, as You did for Jehoshaphat when You set ambushes against his foes, 2 Chronicles 20:22. We do not ask for the death or bloody destruction of those who oppose him, but we ask for Your perfect justice and mercy, that You would restrain evil, expose darkness, and bring each person to conviction and repentance, that they may be saved and delivered from the power of Satan to God, Acts 26:18. Lord, where there is sexual immorality, homosexuality, transsexuality, and impurity, bring godly sorrow that leads to repentance, wash and cleanse and make new. Where there is theft and scamming, bring conviction and restitution. Give our brother peace that surpasses understanding, courage without fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. Help him to walk in holiness, to bless those who curse him, to overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21, and to keep his heart free from hatred and bitterness. Let Your will be done in his neighborhood and workplace, let Your kingdom come and Your light shine, and let him be a witness of Your grace and truth. We entrust all these foes and every evil work into Your righteous hands, trusting You to judge justly and to save mightily. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and mediator, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, we pray. Amen.
