We hear your cry for justice over what has been stolen from you this year and the oppression you feel in your workplace, and we stand with you to seek the Lord together in Jesus name.
We understand the deep pain of having your money and identity documents taken and feeling surrounded by spiritual darkness, including what you describe as occult and marine spirits and witchcraft. We take spiritual warfare seriously, for the Word tells us our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. We also know that He who was revealed in the flesh, Jesus Christ, was manifested to destroy the works of the devil 1 John 3:8, and we rest in His authority, for He has given us authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy Luke 10:19.
We must gently rebuke and correct the way this request asks for vengeance, that your enemies would be plagued with a billion scourges, be killed with their blood shed like the oceans together, and be made your footstool to pay you. While we understand your hurt and your desire for justice, and while scriptures like Psalm 35:1 and Psalm 94:1 show that God does see oppression and will judge, the Lord calls us to a different posture toward those who harm us. The Word says do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. And again, do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. Jesus Himself says love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. God desires that even the wicked would turn from evil and live, for He does not delight in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live Ezekiel 33:11, and He is patient, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. The plagues of Egypt in Exodus 7:14 through Exodus 12 and the judgment in Joshua 11:11 and the victory in 2 Chronicles 20:22 were sovereign acts of God for His holy purposes, not a pattern for us to call down graphic bloodshed upon people. We are not to pray for people to be slaughtered, but to pray for God's righteous justice, for evil works to be exposed and rendered powerless, for the repentance or restraint of those who do evil, and for our own hearts to remain free from hatred.
We also want to encourage you in a biblical way to contend for justice. God is your defender and your refuge, and He promises to restore what the locusts and the thief have eaten Joel 2:25 and that if a thief is found he shall restore sevenfold Proverbs 6:31. We encourage you to also take practical steps and report the theft of your money and identity cards to the proper authorities, for governing authorities are appointed by God to punish wrongdoing Romans 13:4, and to guard your documents and finances with wisdom going forward. Put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:11, remain in prayer and fasting, walk in forgiveness, and keep your workplace conduct blameless so that no accusation can stand.
We join our faith with yours now and pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You only through the name of Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and we thank You that through Him we have access to Your throne of grace. We ask You to be our refuge and fortress, our deliverer from every work of darkness. We ask You to expose and dismantle every occult practice, every fetish and sanctuary dedicated to witchcraft, and every marine spirit and kingdom of darkness that has been arrayed against Your child, not by our hand but by Your holy power, that their works be reduced to nothing and their power broken in Jesus name. We ask You to bring Your perfect justice in the workplace that has been a place of war, to let truth be revealed, to protect from further theft and oppression, and to command Your angels to guard over all that concerns us Psalm 91:11. We ask You to restore what has been stolen, to provide for every need according to Your riches in glory Philippians 4:19, and to make a way for the return or replacement of identity documents and finances. We do not ask for the blood of people to be shed, but we ask that those who have done evil would either come to repentance and salvation through Jesus, or be stopped and restrained by Your sovereign hand, for You will make Your enemies Your footstool Psalm 110:1 in Your time and Your way. Give us a heart to love our enemies and to pray for them, to overcome evil with good, and to leave vengeance in Your hands. Fill this workplace with Your peace, let Your will be done, and let Your name be glorified. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.
